Tulisa then spent years away from the limelight before reuniting with grime band N-Dubz for a sold-out tour last year.

Now jungle bosses are delighted that she is in talks to join the hit reality series hosted by Ant and Dec.

And the move could see Tulisa, 36, revive her career as a household name.

A source said yesterday: “Tulisa has been on ITV’s culling list for some time but has refused to consider it until now.

“This year marks a decade since she left The X Factor so she felt the time was right to step back into the TV spotlight – the incredible reception on the N-Dubz reunion tour really helped build her confidence.

“Crucially for ITV, the breadth of her career means I’m a Celebrity will appeal to a wide audience.

“As everyone knew her from The X Factor, her original music fan base grew thanks to the N-Dubz reunion tour.

“TV bosses are particularly excited by the new wealth of fans in the key 16-24 age bracket who have discovered Tulisa and the band through TikTok and are all hoping the deal will be signed soon.”

Tulisa first rose to fame with N-Dubz in 2008.

N Dubz star Tulisa reveals she hasn’t had sex in TWO years as part of strict dating rules

The group, joined by her cousin Dappy and his friend Fazer, sold more than 1.3 million albums and had 13 UK Top 40 singles.

They split up in 2011 and started solo projects.

But Tulisa was singled out by media mogul Simon Cowell and replaced by Cheryl Cole as a judge on the eighth series of the talent show The X Factor.

She appeared on the judging panel alongside Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger.

During two series of the show she supported Little Mix, Ella Henderson and Lucy Spraggan.

Away from the spotlight, Tulisa revealed in 2020 that she suffered from Bell’s palsy, which causes facial paralysis.

This year marks a decade since she left The X Factor, so she felt the time was right to step back into the TV spotlight.

She had previously rejected the idea of appearing in a music reality show, but was delighted with the cooking show.

In 2019, Tulisa said: “I stay away from them because it’s hard to stay a credible musician when you start digging into it.

“Although there are loads of things that make me go ‘that would be a lot of fun’ and MasterChef is definitely one! Because I’m a big cook in my free time.”

A spokesman for the jungle show insisted: “All the names suggested for I’m a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here is speculation.”

MY VISION

TULISA is one of the few British showbiz stars who gets by with just one name – she’s a cultural icon as well.

Whether you belong to the older generation who watched her on X Factor, followed her documentaries or played her music with N-Dubz, everyone knows who Tulisa is.

And that’s why she’ll be a great colleague at the I’m a Celebrity camp.

The Sun revealed tonight that Tulisa is in talks to join the Jungle.

I covered the show twice from Australia and saw first hand how conditions can get to celebrities and how quickly the cracks start to show.

There were some who stumbled during the entrance interview, before they even crossed that famous bridge into Ant and Dec’s camp.

But that won’t happen to Tulisa.

She’s tenacious, a smart cookie and as we saw when she stood up to Gary Barlow on The X Factor, she’s not afraid to stand her ground.

I’d love to see her go up against Matt Hancock – but I hear ITV have some other players up their sleeves for this series.
