Valeri Bure was born on June 13, 1974 in Moscow, Russia as Valeri Vladimirovich “Val” Bure. He is now 49 years old. Valeri Bure is the younger brother of Vladimir and Titiana Bure. Bure has an older brother, Pavel Bure, who has the same interests as his younger brother. Bure’s father, Vladimir, who was born in Furna, Switzerland, was an Olympic swimmer who won four medals for the Soviet Union in three Olympics between 1968 and 1976. From 1815 to 1917, his ancestors produced valuable timepieces for the Russian emperors , earning them noble rank as craftsmen of the imperial family.
Bure’s parents divorced when he was nine years old. Bure then moved to North America in 1991 with his father and older brother Pavel. His brother signed a contract with the Vancouver Canucks to play in the National Hockey League. His father taught him and his brother hockey in Los Angeles, where they first settled. However, they separated from their father in 1998.

Career
Bure had a great hockey career. He started three games in the Soviet Championship League as a junior. when he moved to North America As he could play junior hockey, he became the first Russian player in the league’s existence to play in the Western Hockey League. Bure scored 49 goals in 53 games for the Chiefs in his first WHL season in 1991-92.
Bure’s playing career began with a move to the Montreal Canadiens, the club where he starred the most. Bure was only five feet ten inches tall, and he and fellow players Saku Koivu (5’10) and Oleg Petrov (5’9) were considered the ‘Smurf’ line. He played 50 games for the Montreal Canadiens until he was sold to the Calgary Flames on February 1, 1998.
Bure joined the Calgary Flames and quickly established himself as an outstanding offensive player. In the 1998/99 season, he scored 26 goals and 53 points. Bure led the team in scoring with his pace and skating ability, and quickly became one of the NHL’s leading scorers. Gilbert kept him off the Fire roster while he struggled to adjust. Bure was traded by the Flames on June 24, 2001. When his contract was up, he became a restricted free agent. He had a knee injury, which hampered the start of his panther career. He lost 37 games while recovering from the accident. After recovering from the injury, he became the offensive ace of the Panthers, scoring 20 goals for the fifth time in his NHL career.
