In 2012, Vanya Mishra participated in the Dabur Gulabri Miss Rose Glow 2012 beauty pageant. After winning several state level beauty pageants, she emerged as the winner of the competition. Winning the Dabur Gulabri Miss Rose Glow 2012 title placed her among the top 20 contestants of Femina Miss India 2012. On 30 March 2012, the Pantaloons Femina Miss India World Finals was held in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and Vanya Mishra was crowned the Miss India World Finals 2012 winner by a panel of judges including Rohit Shetty, Ekta Kapoor, Sanjeev Bajaj, Sonu Nigam, Harbhajan Singh and Sakshi Tanwar. She also won Maybelline’s Best Eyes, Best Skin and Most Photogenic awards at the Miss India World Finals 2012.
Vanya Mishra then represented India at the Miss World 2012 pageant held in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China. Vanya competed against 120 global winners for the title. She was one of the highest scoring contestants in the finals and won two quick challenges, namely Beauty with a Purpose and Social Multimedia. She was one of the top 7 contestants in the Miss World 2012 pageant.

Soon after graduating in 2014, Vanya Mishra and her friend Apaksh Gupta started working on her startup, SummerLabel, a digital fashion and lifestyle store that offered thousands of private labels to showcase their products. She worked on it till 2017.
