Drug case owner Varalakshmi Tiffins
The Hyderabad police have reportedly arrested three people, including the owner of popular Hyderabad eatery Varalakshmi Tiffins near DLF, Gachibowli, for allegedly consuming and transporting drugs like cocaine. However, police teams are trying to identify other consumers to whom she would sell illegal drugs by combing through her mobile phone conversations and WhatsApp groups. It has been revealed that the owner of Varalakshmi Tiffins, Prabhakar Reddy and his assistant Venkata Shiva Sai Kumar, the owner of Palleturu Pullatlu and a consumer trader were arrested and charged for allegedly smuggling illegal drugs like cocaine and MDMA from Goa in the city on Monday and the police also produced illegal drugs worth Rs 14 lakh, Rs 97,500 in cash, along with three cars and five mobile phones.
According to the authorities, Anuradha, the first accused, suspected drugs for several years in Goa and to earn money, she started transporting drugs to Hyderabad by public transport. During this time, she met Prabhakar and Venkat who are big names in the local food industry, but are also users of illegal drugs. He added that the accused planned to meet at the Mokila police station to divide illegally, but were arrested during the arrangement. Reportedly, police teams are trying to identify other consumers to whom she would have sold illegal drugs by searching her saved phones and WhatsApp groups, and the authorities are also keen to establish the identity of Anuradha’s source in Goa.
According to the police, Anuradha used to buy substances from Goa and supply them to her friends in Hyderabad. Moreover, Prabhakar allegedly started using drugs after he met Anuradha and the two decided to buy drugs at low prices in Goa which brought them in private buses to Hyderabad and sell them there at higher prices. However, the police registered a case under Sections 21, 22, 29. Further, the police alleged and said that Sai Kumar met Prabhakar at Varalakshmi Tiffins and sought help to open a hotel named Palleturu Pullatlu and started consuming drugs from Prabhakar.
