In March 2021, Vikas Malu launched a lawsuit against the Indian government, alleging that it had taxed his worldwide income. He claimed to be an NRI, and under Indian legislation, an NRI is required to pay tax on income derived from sources within India. As a result of his stay in India for more than 120 days during the fiscal year 2020–202, the Indian tax authorities asserted that he was a resident of India under Section 6 of the Income Tax Act. He chose some of India’s best attorneys, including Harish Salve, Abhishek Singhvi, and Nalin Talwar, to represent him in the Supreme Court.
Saanvi Malu, Vikas Malu’s second wife, has accused him of rape in 2022. She asserted that Vikas Malu forced her to marry him after raping her prior to their union. In an interview, she disclosed that Vineet Malu, the son of Vikas Malu’s previous wife, who was still a teenager at the time, also began raping her after their marriage, which forced her to leave Vikas’s house.

Near the incident where a Rolls-Royce crashed into an oil tanker on the Delhi-Mumbai-Baroda Expressway near Nuh, killing two persons, Kuber Group director Vikas Malu was one of three injured.
It was previously reported that on Tuesday afternoon, close to Umri village and within the boundaries of Nagina police station, an oil tanker being driven on the wrong side collided with a luxury car.
However, the FIR filed on August 22 at the Nagina police station states that it was the luxury car that slammed into the oil tanker’s front tire from behind. According to the FIR, as a result, the tanker lost stability and flipped over.
The industrialist, identified by police as Malu, was one of three occupants in a Rolls-Royce that collided with the tanker at an expressway location while traveling at an estimated speed of 200 kph.
