Some people wait their whole lives for the moment to work with Kelly Clarkson — and country singer Warren Zeiders is ready for that moment. “It’s a big thing for me [to] never miss an opportunity,” Zeiders, 25, told PEOPLE. “If she was interested, it could be something cool. I would consider doing a duet with her – with such a powerful vocal that she has. I think she and I could do something special together.”
The former lacrosse athlete turned country music star’s comments about his collaboration with Clarkson, 42, come after he appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show in October, when a clip of their interview went viral.
During their segment, unbeknownst to Clarkson, Zeiders’ team brought in a shirtless photo to display on the big screen, leaving her confused.
“Oh—,” Clarkson said, reacting to a photo of him playing lacrosse, to which Zeiders replied, “I might have to take my jacket off.” Clarkson added, “I’ve got to be ready for it. Well, that’s nice.”
Zeiders revealed afterward that he was nervous about the interview.
“I was definitely nervous going out there because TV is so different,” he told PEOPLE. “The TV is loud, hurry up and wait, then it goes, goes, goes.” “I like to be under pressure,” he continued. “I got there and got a chance to meet her, and she did a great job of walking me through the interview, and it was great.” While the moment was Zeiders’ first interview with Clarkson, it wasn’t his first appearance on the show. In 2022, Zeiders made available a recorded performance of his song “Ride the Lightning.” After the interview, some social media users commented on the dynamic between the two singers, with one person writing on Instagram: “Was there chemistry or was it just me?”
Zeiders said the responses did not go unnoticed.

“I’m a person who I believe has done a great job of paying attention to what her fans are saying,” said the 2024 CMT Music Awards winner for Male Video of the Year. “That was a big thing to see the answers to the chemistry and how the interview went.” Zeiders just finished performing on Jelly Roll’s 39th show The Beautifully Broken Tour. He has a few months off before embarking on his own headlining tour. Zeiders will head to Europe in January to kick off his Relapse Tour and return to the US in March to wrap it up. Tickets for Zeiders’ Relapse Tour are on sale.
