Watch Devon Sawa Unbox Nostalgic Items from His 30-Year Film Career (Exclusive)

Devon Sawa embarks on a journey back in time.

Former teenage heartthrob, currently starring in a Syfy series Chuckyrecently participated in a fun “Box of Nostalgia” session with PEOPLE, reviewing items from his 30-year film career — most of which his mom sent him especially for the occasion.

First in line? The helmet and jersey that Sawa wore for his big screen debut in 1994. Little giantsin which he appeared as Junior Floyd, a talented young football player under the tutelage of underdog coach Danny O’Shea (Rick Moranis).

Clutching a VHS copy of the kids’ sports comedy, the Canadian actor, now 45, tells PEOPLE, “I think I can get, like, a good $750 on eBay for this bad boy. It’s still in the packaging!”

“Maybe one day we’ll make a reunion movie,” adds Sawa Little giantswho turns 30 in October, also revealing that he still keeps in touch with much of the cast via social media.

Other films that Sawa touches on and shares memories from 1995 Casper (which “changed my life”, he says), Now and then (1995) and Wild America (1997).

She also briefly reflects on her current relationship with him Wild America costar Jonathan Taylor Thomas, a fellow ’90s child star who hasn’t appeared in a live-action role in over 15 years.

“The cutest kid ever,” says Sawa. “I spoke to him recently – six or seven years ago, I think. I spoke to him on the phone. He’s happy and he’s fine.”

He jokes that Thomas, now 42, “held the championship belt Teen Beat in the world of that time, I knew it too, but I didn’t want to let him know.”

“I was secretly bitter and jealous of him, because everyone was Jonathan [fan]” Sawa continues. “If there were 10 girls, eight of them were Jonathan Taylor Thomas [fans]one of them was me and maybe [the other was a fan of] other guys.”

After poking fun at his “infamous McDonald’s bows,” Sawa dives into his role in Eminem’s “Stan” video and his career as the king of screams since the early 2000s, including memorable roles in Empty hands (1999) and Last destination (2000).

Scream came out first [in 1996]and that’s what started this teenage horror [trend]”, he says, quoting I know what you did last summer (1997) and Disturbing behavior (1998).

Sawa admits he felt “burnt out” afterward. Last destination having worked nonstop for so long and as a result took a break from acting before “falling back in love with it” in his late 20s.

“I had to learn to love him again like I did when I was 15,” he adds.
