Welcome to Plathville: Micah's Girlfriend Makes Her TV Debut as He Says Going Public Takes Relationship to 'Next Level'

Micah Plath’s girlfriend Veronica has made her camera debut!

Veronica made her first appearance in this week’s episode Welcome to Plathville, which was broadcast on August 20. After Veronica misses Micah while he’s finishing the Spartan Race, the famous annual obstacle course, she decides it’s time to stop hiding from the public eye.

“It was definitely a topic, not an argument, but definitely something that was talked about a lot,” she explained. “I was never a person who wanted to be the center of attention. I liked being in the back of the room. I liked being the one who listens to everything, the one who is not involved in everything. It’s like if you had told me when I first met Micah that we were going to do this today, I would have said, ‘No photos of me.'”

“It’s definitely been a growth process,” she continued.

The couple, who have been together for over a year, kept their relationship completely private until Veronica realized she was missing out on making memories with the Plath family. At the same time, she said that she has never been one of those who enjoy attention.

“The first time I met Micah, he wanted to take a photo together,” she recalled. “We were on the beach one day and I said, ‘Absolutely not.’ So all the photos of me that he has are like my hand covering the cameras, he is constantly hiding from the cameras, from the photos. It’s definitely an insecurity. I’d rather have memories in the moment, but to make memories with family, you have to be in front of the camera in the moment.”

Joking that she “tried to hide,” Micah expressed his happiness that his girlfriend is now comfortable filming with him.

“I feel like it takes our relationship to a higher level,” he said.

“That was the most forced thing I’ve ever heard you say,” she replied, but he shot back, “No, I’m really happy you decided to do this because we could spend more time together. You could see my family more.”

“I’m definitely warming up to it,” she told the cameras.

Noting that they already act and live like a married couple — they share a home and three dogs, and each shares in the household chores — Micah said he wasn’t sure after being asked when the two would actually tie the knot.

“No comment at this time,” he said after Veronica called out his “awkward silence.”

“I’m happy to live with my best friend,” added Micah.

Veronica shared the same sentiments, breaking down in tears when she heard Micah call her his “best friend.”

“I tell him this every morning, ‘I have to live with my best friend. How lucky am I?'” she said. “I can’t cry, but I’m grateful to him every day.”

They also offered a glimpse into their daily lives, which Micah said includes him making coffee for them both every morning.

“I appreciate it,” Veronica said. “I’ve never needed anyone to support me, but the little things he does mean the world to me, like making me coffee on Mondays. If I come home late from work, he surprises me [with] my favorite food.”

Micah interjected to explain that, unlike many areas of their lives, food was where he could introduce Veronica to new things. She agreed, saying that “I tried salsa for the first time with the Plath family.”

“When I first met her, her diet was so small and she barely ate anything,” Micah continued. “But I made her try a few things. She tried on the ranch outfit and now she loves it. She tried salsa for me. Now she likes it.”

He said he likes to go on “adventures more” with Veronica than she normally would, and often shows her what she’s “missing out on”.
