Wendy Williams showed up for her son Kevin Hunter Jr. on his big day.
On Thursday, December 19, former The Wendy Williams Show host, 60, celebrated her son’s graduation from Florida International University in a photo obtained by PEOPLE.
Williams was seen with members of her family on a motorized scooter which she customized with a Louis Vuitton monogrammed cup holder and a front bag with Chanel motifs. The TV personality dressed up for the occasion, wearing a shimmering plunging neckline dress, black boots and a large ‘W’ necklace.

Former The Wendy Williams Show The presenter welcomed her first and only child, Kevin, 24, with ex-husband Kevin Hunter in August 2000. She split from Hunter in 2019 after claiming he fathered a child with another woman, and their divorce was finalized in 2020. Although Hunter apologized to Williams in a statement and acknowledged “some mistakes,” he never confirmed the claim.
Wendy’s self-titled show, The Wendy Williams Showwas canceled in June 2022 as the host dealt with health issues, including Graves’ disease.
In February 2024, Kevin, who remains mostly private, re-entered the public eye when he appeared in a trailer for Where is Wendy Williams?a Lifetime documentary about Wendy’s life and health following the cancellation of her talk show. He expressed concern for his mother’s well-being and her ability to return to TV.

“My mom always talks about how she wants to work, but I feel like she’s worked enough,” he said. “He has people around him who are ‘yes people’ and allow this to continue.”
Kevin also expressed displeasure with Wendy’s former court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, saying he wasn’t sure they were acting in her best interest.
“I feel like the guardian didn’t protect my mom well,” he said.
In the week before the documentary aired, her medical team announced that Wendy had been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Her family, including Kevin Jr., who was previously said to have “alcohol-related dementia,” was unaware of the diagnosis before it was announced.
“I still need personal space and peace to move forward,” Wendy told PEOPLE in a statement at the time. “Just know that we deeply appreciate your positivity and encouragement.”
Last month, Morrissey claimed in documents obtained by PEOPLE that Williams is “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled and legally incompetent.”

The update on Williams’ health comes amid Morrissey’s ongoing legal battle with A&E Television Networks, Lifetime Entertainment and other affiliates involved in the release Where is Wendy Williams?documentary series about guardianship of television personalities, health diagnoses and life after them The Wendy Williams Show.
The complaint alleges that the media companies behind the series “filmed without a valid contract and broadcast without the consent of the Guardian”. It also claims that Williams was in a “very vulnerable” state and was “obviously incapable of consenting to being filmed, let alone being humiliated and exploited.”
In the midst of the ongoing court battle, Williams went out with Kevin to the holistic store Bolingo Balance in Newark, NJ, in August.
