That’s what a healthy, good marriage and relationship is all about.”

Candace also spoke about the role Christianity plays in her marriage to Valerie. “The reality is the glue for us is Jesus. It’s the Bible,” she told PEOPLE in 2018. “You know, when there are arguments or when we compromise and kind of, it’s always like, ‘Well, let’s just go back to the Bible.’ That’s the foundation for us. So it’s not about winning or losing. It’s about being on this journey together.”

“What we are is cutting edge,” he said. “Everything is done by hand. We don’t cut corners. We use French oak everywhere. We triple sort. We don’t use tractors in the field. All those little bits are important to us and make us different.”
He added: “Being able to share my passion with friends, when people say, ‘Yours is one of the best wines I’ve tasted,’ is very rewarding. But I’m not trying to please anyone’s palate – I’m making wine for love. And if that turns into something other people like, it’s a win-win situation.”
