My name is Earl star Ethan Suplee said he’s “married to the girl of my dreams.”
He met his wife, Brandy Lewis, when they were teenagers, and the couple eventually fell in love. Lewis even inspired him to make a major lifestyle change, as the actor lost more than 250 pounds last year.
Today they are happily married, the parents of four daughters and the girl’s grandparents. “I really didn’t think I’d make it out of the 90s, let alone 46!” Suplee wrote on Instagram in 2022, “I’m married to the girl of my dreams. I have 4 amazing children who impress me every day [sic]. We got to watch one of them graduate college today! Neither my wife nor I graduated from high school and our jaws are mercilessly open at how smart and capable our children are.”
The actor also credits his wife for giving him a new outlook on life. “Before I met my wife, the future wasn’t something I ever thought about,” he said in 2021. “I’m so glad that life is something I look forward to now, every day.”

Lewis was born in Los Angeles in 1975, and she once told LA trip that she began her career as a manager of actors and musicians before later transitioning into the art world.
Her initial career choice made sense given her close family ties to Hollywood. Her father, Geoffrey Lewis, was an actor, and her sister Juliette would grow up to be an Oscar-nominated actress.

Lewis is the younger sister of Yellow vests star Juliette Lewis.
While she may not appear in front of the camera like her older sister, Lewis has worked as her sibling’s assistant on her films Another sister and The evening star.
The sisters seem to be close, as Juliette often appears in Suplee and Lewis’ Instagram photos and videos — including hitting the gym as a family.
“You taught me not only to face fear, but to control it by challenging it,” Lewis wrote in a birthday tribute to her older sister in 2021. “And you taught me how to be brave by pretending to be.”
Suplee and Lewis met when they were teenagers
Suplee and Lewis met as teenagers and were “very, very, very close friends,” according to Suplee.
He told PEOPLE he was in love with his future wife, but the feelings weren’t reciprocated at the time. “I was completely in love with her and she didn’t really love me,” he said.
They reconnected in 2001, when Suplee said a “miraculous thing” happened to him.
“For the first time, I didn’t get deep concern from someone about my health and I felt completely accepted for who I am versus how I look,” he explained. “I think that was kind of the foundation on which I was successful with my goals.”
She inspired Suplee to lose weight

The Remember the Titans the actor credited his wife-to-be for inspiring him to lose weight.
Shortly after the couple started dating in 2002, Suplee decided to make a change in his life. “For the first time in my life, I became interested in the future and the experiences with it,” he told PEOPLE. “Like spending the day walking through a museum or going on a hike or hiking that I just haven’t been able to.”
The actor ended up losing about 250 pounds, an accomplishment that made him proud, though he doesn’t consider his weight loss the key to happiness.
“I can’t say that actually losing weight made me happier. I don’t think that’s true,” he said. “I just think that achieving something that I set my mind to has brought me this amount of happiness that’s pretty great.”
They got married in 2006

The friends-turned-lovers married in 2006, and Lewis’ influence on Suplee’s journey was undeniable.
“I don’t want to say that she saved my life. I am not care about my life before her,” the actor told Inside you podcast in 2021. “My life meant very little to me before her. Once I started seeing her … it was the first time I started thinking about the future. That’s how I really got myself out of this pit… I looked up and saw the light.”
She started an art studio and agency

In 2015, Lewis founded Makers Mess, an “art studio and creative agency” that offered art and design courses for businesses, adults and children.
The seed for what would become Makers Mess was planted shortly after Lewis’ father died in 2015. As she worked through her emotions, she found that art and creativity were helpful ways to help her overcome her grief. “I realized that the only time I felt any relief was when I was sitting in a creative writing class for three hours a week,” Lewis explained. LA trip 2021. “I wanted four walls where people could practice what’s really important in this world — being creative, without any emphasis on talent or perfection or anything else.”
Lewis’ creative approach, which ran Makers Mess, is that things don’t have to be perfect. “Makers Mess perfectly described the environment I wanted to create. And then came the unexpected gift of being able to support all these creatives from different fields around the world,” she shared. “One day I realized [that] no matter how far I thought I wanted to get away from the entertainment business, I still ended up in the same field of supporting artists.”
She is the mother of four children

Lewis has four children: her older daughters Lily and Bella were from a previous relationship, and she and Suplee had daughters Frances Clementine and Billie Grace in 2005 and 2007, respectively.
Lewis and Suplee are also the girl’s grandparents. “We have the cutest granddaughter in the world and we cry with joy when we talk about her,” Suplee wrote on Instagram in 2022.
