Meet Madison Prewett’s husband!

After appearing on Bachelor season 24, Prewett happily found her two years later with Grant Troutt.

A 28-year-old speaker and minister for athletes and churches, Troutt proposed to Prewett in August 2022 after less than a year of dating.

“Grant was waiting for me and took me to the beach, where he had candles and flowers and a Bible with my new name on it,” the reality star told PEOPLE exclusively. “And the ring of my dreams! It was definitely worth the wait.”

On October 29, 2022, Prewett and Troutt were married in front of 400 people at his parents’ home in Dallas, Texas. The “elegant and elegant” wedding was extravagant from start to finish. There were thousands of white roses, and no one could miss the human-sized cake at the reception.

“Like heaven knew I needed you,” Prewett captioned a picture of the newlyweds walking down the aisle.

Troutt was born in Dallas, Texas on March 5, 1996. He grew up in his hometown and attended high school at the Episcopal School of Dallas, where he was a two-way athlete in basketball and football.

He is the son of billionaire Kenny Trout

His father is billionaire Kenny Troutt, founder of long-distance telephone company Excel Communications. He took the company public in 1996 and later sold it to Teleglobe in a $3.5 billion deal in 1998, per Forbes.

He reinvested the profits in stocks, bonds and horses. Additionally, he is the owner of WinStar Farm in Versailles, Kentucky. The company is known for breeding outstanding thoroughbreds, including a Kentucky Derby winner.

Although his LinkedIn hasn’t been updated in a while, it says Troutt works as a financial analyst at Blue Stone Innovation Partners, a venture capital fund based in Frisco, Texas.

He is a former student athlete

Troutt was recruited to play basketball at UC Santa Barbara on a full scholarship in 2015, but retired a year later due to medical complications. He was sidelined for the remainder of the 2016 season with a hip injury, according to his UCSB bio page. Before retirement, his primary job was as a security guard.

After running track and field at UC Santa Barbara, he transferred to Southern Methodist University where he continued his education from 2016 to 2019. During his education, he had several investment and business internships.

He is very open about his faith

With only 28 posts on his Instagram (as of February 2020), most of them include lengthy captions about his newfound love for Jesus and his faith journey.

His first post explains that he has faced many ups and downs over the past few years, but has learned that Jesus is “the only thing that will ever satisfy [his] heart.” He wrote: “His love caught me in my darkest moments and I was met with a smile and a love that changed everything.”

When Prewett and Troutt first announced their relationship on Instagram in May 2022. Bachelor the alum recalled their first date.

“It’s been special since the first date: when you forgot to open my car door because we were both so nervous, when we barely touched our quesadillas at dinner because of our deep conversations and intentional questions,” she wrote.

Fortunately, the meeting ended on a high note as she notes that “[ended] driving around at night listening to Drake in the car at full blast for hours.”

Troutt concluded his sentimental love message to Prewett with a similar tidbit, writing, “I could write a book about what I’ve learned from your heart, but I’ll save that for another time. For now, just know, as Drizzy Drake said, ‘I got z for these other girls. I sleep with her.'”

Troutt and Prewett were married on October 29, 2022, at his parents’ home in Dallas, Texas. A wedding of 400 people included several Bachelor National favorites including Victoria Fuller, Hannah Ann Sluss and Kelley Flanagan.

“We chose this location because it is unique and special to us and having all our friends and family there means a lot,” Prewett told PEOPLE. “I’ve always wanted to get married in the fall and we wanted a short engagement, so it couldn’t be more perfect.”

The lavish wedding included thousands of white roses and a human-sized cake. But Prewett stole the show in not one, but two custom gowns by Nardos Design.

“I didn’t have any brothers, so I’m still learning the male brain,” she told the newspaper. “I say, ‘Wait, this is what you think this is? Is this going through your head?’ Honestly, in general, only around a man [is new] — I’m simply used to being in the company of women all the time.”

Prewett continued, “We’re just learning how to communicate, you know, [our] wishes, needs, expectations. We were just growing and learning so much. He really is my best friend in the whole world.”

A few months later, Prewett told PEOPLE that the first six months of their marriage were “difficult” for the couple.

“I think the reason it was hard was something that a lot of people don’t talk about… I feel like when you get married, there’s a nice celebration and coming together, but there’s also this dying to the old life,” she said. “We both had to learn that we would have the healthiest and best marriage if we continued to lay down our lives for each other and serve each other.”

He and Prewett traveled to Mexico for their honeymoon

The newlyweds enjoyed a luxurious honeymoon at Las Ventanas al Paraiso — a resort in Cabo, Mexico.

Prewett shared a few photos on Instagram from their first getaway as husband and wife, which included a private dinner, pool time and walks on the beach.

“Best honeymoon with my HUSBAND (not over it yet!!!!!),” she captioned the carousel of pictures.

He supports Prewett’s efforts

In September 2023, Prewett published her second book, The love that everyone wants.

“My Madi Rose. I’M PROUD OF YOU,” Troutt wrote on Instagram the day of the announcement. “I’m proud to be yours.”
