Makena Moore does not share Twilight star Taylor Lautner passion for acting, but sister and brother still have a special bond.

Moore, who is six years younger than Lautner, played a key role in his life. She introduced him to his wife, Taylor Dome, after meeting her at church in Nashville, and today Moore works on their podcast, Grip.

Lautner’s sister is also happily married. She and her husband, Jacob Moore, had multiple weddings in 2020 and welcomed their son, Breckon, in 2022. Scream queens the star is a doting uncle to his nephew and shares photos of the two hanging out on social media.

On National Sibling Day 2019, Moore honored her brother with a sweet Instagram tribute.

“Tay, I love you tons,” she captioned a photo of herself showing off her engagement ring and posing next to Lautner. “You really are the best big brother in the world. I’m so grateful for how close we are and know that nothing will come between us.”

She was born in Michigan and grew up in California

The siblings are originally from Hudsonville in Grand Rapids, Michigan and moved to Santa Clarita, California in 2003 for Lautner’s acting career, according to MLive. There, Moore attended high school in Valencia, where she played volleyball and organized TEDx lectures.

Despite leaving the Midwest as children, Lautner and Moore still feel connected to their roots. In 2019, she shared a photo of them posing on a beach in Michigan. She joked in her headline, “but you can’t take Michigan out of the kids…”

She was a dedicated volleyball player

During her senior year of high school in 2016, Moore gave a TEDx talk titled “The Unexpected.” She told the story of how she worked hard to become great at volleyball, but faced serious health problems that forced her to quit the sport.

First, she tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), a ligament in her knee joint. After a lot of rehabilitation and training through pain, she was able to return to volleyball during her freshman year of high school.

However, shortly after returning to the field, Moore learned that she had developed a heart condition called supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), which caused her heart to beat rapidly. She then had an ablation procedure and was told she could return to playing volleyball within a week. Unfortunately, her nerves were damaged during the operation and she had to leave the sport forever.

When Moore had a second heart procedure in 2018, her brother was by her side. Lautner took to Instagram to share a photo of himself kissing his sister on the forehead as she rested in a hospital bed at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He called the proceedings a “HUGE success” in his headline.

Lautner added: “I couldn’t look up to this little/not-so-little girl anymore. You are much braver than me @makenalautner.. I love you so much.”

Afterward, he also shared an Instagram Story showing his sister leaving the hospital and captioned it, “And she’s free.”

The following year, Moore shared a picture of herself smiling in a hospital bed after the procedure and reflected on the difficult day.

“Life has its challenges, but how you respond to those challenges is the real test,” she wrote. “I still deal with it to this day and as frustrating as it is, I know the path that got me here and I’m forever grateful for that.”

She is married to Jacob Moore

Moore met Jacob in her freshman year at Belmont University in 2016, and the couple married on May 1, 2020, in an intimate wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Only the parents, their pastor and three friends attended the celebration. Although Lautner couldn’t be there in person (the actor FaceTimed her), he still cheered her on in a different way.

“Nothing about our wedding day was what I imagined,” she wrote on Instagram after the wedding. The influencer noticed that her brother had flowers and a message “on hold [her] when [she] I woke up.” She added, “Maybe it wasn’t what I imagined, but I can’t describe how sweet it was.”

The couple held a larger wedding in September of the same year, and she later posted a video of herself and Jacob looking delighted at the event. Moore captioned the photos on Instagram: “If you ask me what my favorite part of our second wedding is…it would easily be: being surrounded by our people.”

Moore and Jacob welcomed their son, Breckon, on November 5, 2022. She announced the exciting news on Instagram alongside photos of the baby. “The most special day of our lives. You completely stole our hearts!” she wrote the title.

By the new year, Moore revealed that Lautner and Dome had met Breckon. Fast forward to his first birthday, the family came together to help the couple celebrate. The theme was “Breckon’s First Rodeo,” and festivities included a bounce house and LED letters.

“Happy 1st birthday to our little cowboy 🐴🤠🐮,” she shared along with pictures of the special day. “You will always be my baby…”

Moore works at the Lemons Foundation, a mental health nonprofit founded by Lautner’s wife. According to the content creator’s LinkedIn page, she started working as director of operations in February 2023.

She posted about the Inaugural Lemons Foundation Gala on the platform in November 2023, writing that the event was “one for the books!” She continued: “I’m so proud to be part of this team making a difference and breaking down the stigma around mental health.”

Part of Moore’s role includes working on Lautner and his wife’s podcast, Grip. In an October 2023 LinkedIn post, she wrote that she was “so grateful” to be part of the podcast team. Moore also expressed her excitement for their episode with Charli D’Amelio, noting, “What a joy to be apart of such an amazing thing.”

Lautner’s sister is a big fan of his famous ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift. ( Twilight the actor and the “Anti-Hero” singer briefly dated in 2009 and have remained friends ever since.)

On TikTok in June 2023, Moore revealed that she has personalized merchandise on display in her home. “When someone comes and asks why I still have a CD signed by my brother’s ex-girlfriend framed and used as decor,” she captioned a video of herself convulsing and synchronizing with the sound of TikTok, “Leave me alone!”

Moore introduced Lautner to his now-wife after meeting her in Nashville. In an Instagram post in November 2021, she shared photos of herself and the registered nurse showing off their engagement rings.

“I don’t want to blow my own horn or anything, but I feel screwed ;),” Moore teased. “I think I chose a good one for my brother 😉🤍.”

She continued: “@taydome the moment I met you at a small church in Nashville I knew I had to introduce you to my brother. You two couldn’t be more perfect for each other. The way you guys give compliments really blows my mind.”

Moore called Lautner’s wife “a sister and best friend for life.” Lautner lovingly commented on her post, “YOU DID A GOOD BABY.”
