Who is The Repair Shop expert David Burville? Everything you need to know

The Repair Shop is undoubtedly one of the hottest reality shows right now on our screens, and has built a loyal fan base in its six years of airing.

But the show wouldn’t be nearly as popular without the talented team of professionals who have transformed precious items and heirlooms brought to the iconic warehouse by members of the public. One expert who often impresses guests with his superb organ-making skills is David Burville. But how much do you know about him? Read on to find out everything you need to know…

Who is The Repair Shop expert David Burville?

David Burville is a professional organ builder and runs his own workshop in Canterbury, Kent, called DR Burville Organ Builders.

The professional began his career at long-standing organ maker, FH Browne, before moving to Belgium in 1998 to begin a long apprenticeship in Johnny Verbeeck’s workshop.

He later returned to the UK to set up his own workshop, which is one of the UK’s largest organ factories with over 4,000 square feet of storage and warehouse facilities.

While David tries to keep his personal life out of the spotlight, we do know that he was married to a woman named Kelly and that he was married at Marleybrook House in Canterbury, Kent.

David celebrated his wedding anniversary last September and shared an Instagram video of the organ builder enjoying various rides at the Marleybrook House Fun Fair. He captioned: “Fun tonight at @marleybrookhouse. Our celebration is coming this week. Great to spend time with Kelly and my family. #marleybrookhouse #anniversary #funfair #fairground # weddingvenue #forhire.”

In the newly released series Repair shopDavid sets out to restore the precious harmonium brought back by Prize-winning Poet Simon Armitage, his instrument carrying with him the memories of his late father, Peter.

However, Simon is not the only famous face to appear this season as children’s author Michael Rosen and political activist Patrick Vernon will appear in two special episodes of the show.

Children’s Award Winner and Best-Selling Author Let’s go bear hunting, who became seriously ill with coronavirus during the pandemic and was in a coma for 40 days, delivers an important piece of documentation on the Covid pandemic. His care records, which are kept by NHS staff and are the only documents he has since that time, will be converted by experts.
