Career
Kevin began his career in 2007 when signed to local record label Dead Game Records. When he collaborated with Baton Rouge natives Boosie Badazz and Webbie, his career took off. In 2007, the three worked together on the mixtape Pick of Da Litter.
In 2008, Kevin’s second mixtape, “All or Nuthin”, was released. However, Gates was jailed in 2008 for his criminal activities. He was in prison from 2008 to 2011. In prison from 2008 to 2011, he completed a master’s degree in psychology through the prison program. Kevin was released early due to outstanding behavior.
Immediately after its release, he began working on his music and released the mixtape “Make Em Believe” in 2012, which was only moderately successful. The same year, he signed with Lil Wayne’s label.
