Who Is Wilmer Valderrama’s Fiancée? All About Amanda Pacheco

Wilmer Valderrama and his fiancee, Amanda Pacheco, have celebrated several milestones together since they first started dating in 2019.

The couple, who met through a mutual friend, got engaged in January 2020 and announced they were expecting their first child in December. In February 2021, their daughter Nakano Oceana arrived. Despite the faster timeline of their relationship, Valderrama says he and the model were on the same page about the time.

“Amanda and I were planning to start a family before this pandemic. We decided that having a family in the very near future would be part of the plan,” That 70s show alum shared with PEOPLE.

He added: “We look at the good side of the pandemic. The only way to live is to look at the opportunity this pandemic has given us, not what it has taken away from us.”

She has been associated with Valderrama since 2019

Valderrama met Pacheco through a mutual friend, and despite a busy filming schedule NCIS, he felt a “gravitational force” towards her.

“There was just something about her that told me I had to meet this person,” he said Parents.

He switched from texting in English to Spanish after she mentioned she was of Mexican descent, but there was a small catch: “I’m not fluent,” Pacheco said.

She added: “So I had Wilmer on my phone in one hand and my dad was translating on the other phone in my other hand! We always joke that Wilmer and my dad are really the ones who fell for each other.”

The couple was first publicly linked in April 2019, when they were seen shopping together in Los Angeles. In June of that year, they stepped into France to celebrate the wedding of Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner.

She is a model

Pacheco worked as a model and signed a contract with Scout Model & Talent Agency. On Instagram, she regularly shares various professional photos of herself modeling swimwear, wedding looks and more.

In addition to working as a model, she is also a diving instructor. According to her Instagram bio, she is a Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) dive instructor.

The actor got down on one knee on the beach in San Diego on New Year’s Day 2020. Along with an Instagram photo announcing the happy news, he wrote: “Now it’s just us’ 01-01-2020”

Pacheco shared the same photo and caption on her Instagram, along with another image showing her pear-shaped engagement ring.

“The diamond appears to be about 4 carats and would retail for anywhere up to $100,000,” said Mary Frances Joseph of Shane Co. Private Jewelers. for PEOPLE about the pavé stripe solitaire diamond.

“Brides continue to love unique fancy pear-shaped diamonds for their engagement rings, especially as they tend to look larger and add a sense of personality to their ring,” Joseph added.

She is a mother

In December 2020, Lauren announced that she was pregnant with their first child together. She gave birth to their daughter Nakano Oceana on February 15, 2021.

The first-born parents posted together on Instagram: “Life is an ever-evolving journey, and for all those times when our path needs light..often angels are sent to show us the way and that we can be more…righter from heaven we salute our first daughter.”

The actor shared with PEOPLE that they were inspired by a joint trip to Japan. When considering a name for their baby, they researched ancient Japanese warriors before finally settling on samurai wife Takeko Nakano.

“Nakano has become something strong, unique, different,” explained the proud dad. “I thought it was a good, fun little topic for our daughter to talk about as she grows up. But also, a tribute and a legacy, and a tribute to one of those beautiful moments when my fiancee and I said ‘I love you’ for the first time. To mark that a trip to Japan as our first labor of love.”

As for his daughter’s middle name, they settled on Pacheco’s love of marine life and scuba diving. “She’s incredibly passionate about the ocean, diving and ocean life, so it was another tribute to her mom,” Valderrama said.

She is passionate about cancer awareness

After losing her mother to ovarian cancer, Pacheco says her spirit lives on. “I felt her presence throughout my pregnancy,” she said Parents. “There’s no way that everything would have gone as smoothly if it hadn’t been for my mom watching over me.”

There’s also a connection between Pacheco’s daughter and her mother — they share the same birthday: “I’m sure God had a lot to do with it. But I know it was my mom, too.”

In September 2021, she participated in a walk with Valderrama, their daughter and friends to raise funds for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. “I want to continue her mission to raise awareness for every woman,” she wrote on Instagram. “I am so proud to walk with my family and friends in her honor this year for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.”

Her relationship with Valderrama is her priority

Valderrama says he and Pacheco have worked hard to communicate and check in with each other, while appreciating the milestones their daughter achieves along the way.

“I think it’s a testament to us. They tell you, ‘It’s all about the baby,’ but when you’re both with the baby, you can forget about each other. The baby is our priority,” he shared with Parents. “But,” he added, turning to Pacheco, “you are mine too.”

Pacheco also opened up about their relationship, “Wilmer always does sweet, loving things for me.”

She and Valderrama were at the 2024 Golden Globes

In January 2024, Pacheco and Valderrama enjoyed a parents’ dinner at the Golden Globes in Los Angeles. The model stunned in a tuxedo-inspired dress, while NCIS the star wore a black suit.
