The talk show host, 68, responded to people who criticized the country superstar’s outfit she wore to perform at The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show during the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day game against the Washington Commanders.

Parton’s stage outfit embodied the Cowboy cheerleader uniform including white belted shorts, a white vest with blue stars and a blue crop top. She wore a glittering net suit that covered her berries and legs, and she covered her navel with a crystal star.

Before taking the stage, the musician said in a statement to the media that he was “honored” to partner with The Salvation Army.
