Woody Harrelson Recalls Snowboarding Naked with Red Hot Chili Peppers Bassist Flea: 'The Greatest Times'

Woody Harrelson and Flea reminisce about their favorite — and craziest — memories together.

In the last episode of the podcast Where everyone knows your name, which Harrelson co-directs with Ted Danson, Flea unlocked a memory where the two had quite the bonding experience. Joking about their time together, the Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist, 61, recalled snowboarding naked with Harrelson.

“I have footage of Woody Harrelson and me snowboarding naked down a big snowy mountain,” Flea laughed.

“It’s actually a great recording,” he said Cheers the actor, 63, added.

Flea even said he wanted to share the video on Instagram, but Harrelson’s wife, Laura, “warned me against it.”

“I just have to say I had the best time with you,” Harrelson told his longtime friend before explaining to Danson that Flea is “very Zen, but he’s also competitive.”

The musician agreed, but claimed that “unlike” Harrelson, “I don’t really care if I win or lose.”

The conversation then reminded them of another memory on the trail, where a race led to a fight with another skier. “I remember one of the last times we went, raced, and we were both reckless because, let’s be honest, we go really fast, but we’re very average snowboarders,” Flea said. “We have to admit that we are average.”

“A little above average,” Harrelson jokingly replied.

He went on to explain that he “was out of control rocketing down this mountain” and almost hit a woman he didn’t see coming.

“She’s gone off track and I miss her—it’s all right,” Flea said. “We are racing. I can’t remember who won, probably me. And we go down there, and we’re about to get on the elevator and we’re laughing and yelling at each other, and this lady comes up, and she’s furious.”

Flea claimed to have apologized profusely – and meant it – but the woman continued to yell at him.

“Then he takes his ski pole and sticks it in my face,” he revealed. “And then at this point, I’m like, ‘Look, I’m fucking sorry, but get your fucking pole out of my face.’ And then Woody walks up to me and just sees her pole in my face and stands up for me like a good friend.”

“And then she says, ‘Well, my husband is going to come over here and he’s going to show you what,'” he continued.

It was at that point that Harrelson allegedly intervened in the argument, encouraging the woman to go ahead and get her husband, he said. However, when the man got there, Flea thought it would be better to remove them from the situation – even though Harrelson was just getting started.

“You and I get into the elevator, but you just crave a fight and start yelling, ‘I’m waiting at the top of the elevator. I’ll wait at the top,’ Flea told Harrelson. “And then you tell me, ‘Nothing can make me happier. Nothing makes me happier than that fucking guy coming up there.’ And I realized that there is a joy that you feel in the coming chaos.”

Confirming this to be true, Harrelson admitted that he used to love the drama, but has since “outgrown it”.

“It doesn’t look like me anymore,” he explained.
