Woody Harrelson's 3 Kids: All About Zoe, Deni and Makani

Woody Harrelson is the definition of a woman’s father to his children: Deni, Zoe and Makani.

Harrelson has been open about how his wife Laura Louie and their daughters have changed his life for the better. In the 2018 interview The Guardianhe talked about becoming famous after appearing on cheers caused him to become “less open” and more negative.

“But luckily, this life and my family — my wife and my daughters — have made me a better human being,” Harrelson said.

The Suncoast star also talked about how his kids, in particular, helped him improve mentally and emotionally by keeping him grounded.

“My kids always let me know what an idiot I was,” he said The The New York Times in an interview from 2023. “Let’s just say that they don’t pat me on the back unnecessarily. They helped me to be a kinder, gentler soul.”

Harrelson shared with Lufthansa magazine that they learned how to find balance in their own lives. “They are strong and tough; they see through the lie. At the same time, they are optimistic and open,” he told HuffPost.

Danny Montana Harrelson, 30

Harrelson’s first child, Deni, was born on March 5, 1994. She has no public social media profiles and stays out of the limelight. However, she rarely appeared on the red carpet with her dad, mom and sisters.

In February 2023, Deni walked the red carpet with her parents and younger sister Makani in New York at the premiere of her film champions. She wore a sleek black and white two-piece set and a red hat for pop.

In an interview with S. in 2008 EsquireHarrelson talked about how becoming a father unexpectedly changed him.

“I remember my daughter Deni coming, and she was so clean and caring towards everyone and everything,” he told the magazine. “And somehow this little being managed to bypass all the obstacles—cannon turrets, walls, ditches, sentinels—that were wrapped around my heart.”

The A true detective alum added, “My heart needed her then. I think it’s the best thing, parenthood.”

Zoe Giodano Harrelson-Louie, 28

Harrelson’s second daughter, Zoe, was born on September 22, 1996. She also does not share her life on any public social media accounts.

Zoe and her sister Deni were home schooled for part of their lives. In an interview with In styleHarrelson said he hopes to learn a lot from “hanging out” with him and “going places,” especially since he’s “been away from home too much and not had enough time” with them.

The Zombieland star worked up to The New York Times that his children would go wherever he went, but the arrangement eventually fell through.

“Then they went to a really good school and that was the end of traveling everywhere with dad,” he said. “It was kind of unfair to them and me. But on the other hand, I could have worked less.”

As a 2015 graduate, Zoe gave a TED talk on the negative impact of cell phones and the importance of taking a break from them.

According to the description of the YouTube video, she modeled herself artistically on her father. She is said to be “very passionate and active in the arts”, particularly theatre, drawing, singing and creative writing.

In the same year, Zoe starred in U2’s music video “Song For Someone” along with her father. In the clip, Harrelson plays a man about to be released from prison, and his daughter, played by Zoe, comes to pick him up.

Makani Ravello Harrelson, 18

Harrelson and Louie welcomed their youngest child, Makani, on June 3, 2006.

A few days later, the couple announced the birth of their daughter in a joint statement.

“In this crazy patriarchal world we live in, we do our part to balance the energy,” it read, according to Today. “We are proud to announce the conclusion of our Goddess trilogy with the birth of our third daughter, Makani Ravello.”

As she grew up, Makani bonded with the children of her father’s famous friends. In 2013, Harrelson appeared alongside Owen Wilson on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and they talked briefly about their children.

During their conversation, Harrelson shared that Makani and Wilson’s son Ford are “pretty good friends.”

“Makani took Ford to show and tell at her school,” Wilson said as a sweet picture of Makani holding Ford in her classroom was shown to the live audience.

Makani is another daughter interested in art and may even follow in her dad’s acting footsteps. In 2016, she appeared with Harrelson in the thriller LBJ. The following year, she played a character named Deni in the film Lost in Londonin which her father also starred.
