Volcano, diRoma Acqua Park, Brazil

And an 8-year-old boy died after falling nearly 50 feet from a broken water slide after its parts were taken away for renovation this year.

Davi Lucas de Miranda fell from a pipe that was not yet repaired while riding in Brazil, and the park manager and engineer were charged with manslaughter for his death in 2022.

Not realizing that the slide was missing parts, Davi went down the shoot and plunged 50 feet before hitting the wood and metal structure of the slide and then rolling into a shallow pool.

The ride was originally fenced off to prevent park visitors from entering the slide while it was undergoing maintenance.

However, the inquest said the fence was allegedly removed at the manager’s direction after additional barriers were placed around the slide area.

It is claimed she suffered significant internal injuries as a result – she bled for two weeks and required surgery.

Her mum said they couldn’t immediately find a rescuer to help as the girl came down the slide – and it’s estimated the girl lost around 500ml of blood.
