At first glance, this may look like nothing more than two images of a dry hillside, but there’s actually more to this scene than meets the eye.
These two grasshoppers, a type of small antelope, are found in both eastern and southern Africa.
They have blended in so easily with their natural surroundings that they are almost impossible to detect.
Roan du Plessis, 32, took the disturbing photos while leading a safari in the Ngala Private Game Reserve.
Roan, originally from Johannesburg said; “One of my guests saw them first and exclaimed ‘What is that?’
“My initial thought was that she might have seen a leopard because that’s what we were looking for, but I was pleasantly surprised to see this pair as I hadn’t seen them in almost half a year.”
“Rocky cliffs are their natural habitat, with an amazing ability to maneuver around rocky outcrops,” Roan continued.
“Although I didn’t go to the area specifically looking for klipspringers, when we saw them I planned to show off the incredible camouflage of these tiny antelopes.
“What I like most about these images is the ability of these animals to blend in so well with their natural surroundings.”
