PRINCESS Kate has hailed a cancer-stricken teenager for inspiring her and husband William with her strength and creativity.
The Prince of Wales, 42, invited photographer Liz Hatton, 16, to photograph the investiture he organized at Windsor Castle for sporting heroes.

Kate, 42, was seen giving Liz, who has a rare and aggressive form of cancer, a warm hug, while she and William also lined up to take pictures with the teenager and her family.
These are the first photos of the Princess of Wales at work since completing her own chemotherapy.
The royals posted: “Delighted to meet Liz in Windsor today.
“A talented young photographer whose creativity and strength inspired us both. Thank you for sharing your photos and story with us.”
They signed it with a love heart emoticon and their trademark “W & C”.
Liz, who was joined by mum Vicky Robayna, stepdad Aaron and brother Mateo, replied: “Such lovely, genuine and kind people, I’m delighted that my family and I got to experience this.”
She added: “It was an absolute pleasure to meet everyone and take photos today in Windsor, it was a great honor and basically a dream come true, so I really hope to be a part of all future events!”
The teenager, from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, was diagnosed with desmoplastic small round cell tumor in January and was given between six months and three years to live.
William found out about her through the London Air Ambulance Charity, of which he is a patron.
Liz revealed it was a “dream come true” to photograph sports stars yesterday, including cyclist Mark Cavendish and former footballer Ally McCoist.
The warm return of Princess Kate
The teenager, who created a photo gallery after her devastating diagnosis, said: “It was such an honor and basically a dream come true, so I really hope to be a part of any and all future events! xx.”
Kate, a photographer herself, told the nation she had cancer in March.
Last month, she said in another video that she was “relieved” that her treatment was over, saying: “The last nine months have been incredibly difficult for us as a family.”
She also vowed to stand “side by side” with others battling the disease.
Last week it was revealed that she had secretly traveled to a ballet in North London.

Princess Kate with William in a heartfelt post
She saw a two-hour matinee of English National Ballet’s Giselle at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, Angelo.
Posting the photo on social media – which she did not take herself – she wrote a message and signed it with ‘C’.
Kate wrote a touching message to the performers and directors of English National Ballet on X, formerly Twitter.
The sweet message was posted on the official joint Twitter account of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
It read: “Congratulations and thanks to @ENBallet and @Sadlers_Wells for Akram Khan’s beautifully powerful, moving and inspiring performance of Giselle.
“Creativity at its best! C”
Kate returned to work at Windsor Castle just days after revealing she had finished chemotherapy.
She held her first official meeting in more than nine months speaking to early childhood charity leaders.
The princess recently revealed that she is done with treatment and is scheduled to appear on several engagements before the end of the year.
The official court circular, which lists all royal engagements, read: “The Princess of Wales, joint patron, The Prince and Princess of Wales Royal Foundation, held an early years meeting at Windsor Castle this afternoon.”
There were no photographs of the meeting, but she is understood to have been joined by members of her household team and representatives from The Royal Foundation’s Early Childhood Centre.
Kate launched the center in June 2021 to drive awareness and action around the exceptional impact of the early years, to transform society for the future.
She was up to date with the early years program while being treated for cancer.
In May, sources close to Kate said she was “excited” after she was well enough to inform her of the findings of a taskforce she set up to help under-5s.
She read a 60-page report on her project from the early years and said she was “up to date” with the work that had been published, it is understood.
The meeting at Windsor Castle is the first meeting recorded in a court letter since her health scare, the palace said.
It is actually her first meeting entered in the register since December 6.

Royal expert analysis of Kate’s first public appearance
The Sun spoke to Ingrid Seward, a royal expert, who shared her analysis of the Princess of Wales’ first public appearance since battling cancer.
Ingrid said: “There was a beautiful photo of Kate hugging her so it was very touching because they’ve both had cancer and you know Kate has now finished, finished her treatment.
“It was a really nice thing to do and I think it’s a picture of hope for anyone who’s had cancer.”
She added: “I think Kate really needed that kind of push to sit at home, you know.
“She was obviously doing some work, but she needed the stimulation of seeing people.
“Her whole life since she’s been married to William has been around people and seeing people, and I think that’s probably given her a lot of incentive to be out again, because she’s been stuck at home for almost a year now, and she’s obviously been in a lot of pain and was very worried, and not knowing what would happen to her.
“So this is. This is a really big moment for her.”
The royal expert revealed that Kate’s biggest takeaway from the event was “the courage of these young people, especially this girl, Liz, who had this rare cancer”.
Ingrid added: “I think Kate was particularly in awe of this young girl’s bravery and genuinely wanted to hug her.
“Kate must have felt extra affection for her, as she did for all the other children.
“She’s always been brilliant with kids. She’s a natural.”
Ingrid claimed that Kate’s look proved “amazing to the general public”.
The royal expert added: “People were genuinely worried. They were always wondering what happened to the Princess of Wales. When is she going to come back?
“And of course, and none of us knew exactly what happened to her, so it was difficult and I think people are delighted to see her back.
“I mean, she’s not going to come back in the same capacity that she used to, but gradually she will, and she’s just taking it one day at a time and seeing how much energy she has, and I think today is going to be brilliant for her.”

King breaks his moves to Samoa
The king showed off his Samoan dance moves yesterday — ahead of his upcoming visit to the island nation.
Former rugby ace Freddie Tuilagi (53) stripped down to the waist and dragged His Majesty to the action at the Palace of St. James.
The sports star later said: “We gave it a bit of a Samoan flavour. He said he liked it. He had good moves.”
The reception was ahead of the Commonwealth meeting in Samoa later this month.
