10 Shows Like Modern Family to Watch Now

Modern family premiered in 2009 and quickly became a huge hit.

The series was praised for its clever, often laugh-out-loud humor that helped complement how relatable the Pritchett and Dunphy families felt to many viewers. Modern family it was also known for diversity rarely seen in prime time until that point.

What happens when comedy legends Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara team up as wealthy but struggling parents who find themselves broke and stuck living in a remote town? You get an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a SAG-winning series Schitt’s Creek.

The series revolves around a Taiwanese family now living in Florida and highlights the generational differences between them.

Just like Modern familythe series does a great job of taking very clever humor and making it accessible to a wide range of viewers.

Fresh off the boat he is also credited with promoting the representation of Asian Americans on television and launching the careers of actors such as Constance Wu. After six seasons, the series ended in 2020.

The story is set in the 1980s, The Goldbergs follows the titular Goldberg family as they experience everyday life.

As Modern familythe series does not have a larger overarching plot and is instead more episodic, following the hilarious everyday antics that most families experience.

Just like Modern family showed what many families actually look like, Good times was a series that showed what life was like for many poor families in the 70s, especially those in minority communities.

IN Good timesthe Evans family lives paycheck to paycheck in a Chicago housing project, but despite their economic situation, the family always remains strong.

The series is funny, real, and helped change viewers’ perceptions of what poverty looks like, focusing on emotional characters full of love and vibrant personalities.

Modern family he showed how America was changing in the 2010s, and so on. Family ties it showed what some families were going through in the 80s.

Family ties centers on liberal ex-hippie parents and their conservative son (Michael J. Fox) during the Reagan era. Two generations try to find balance in their daily lives despite their different views.

While not everything about the show has aged well, it’s still a great example of how America is always changing and how people with different opinions can still come together.
