Ariana Grande Reclaims Her Power in New ‘Yes, And?’ Music Video: ‘Why Do You Care So Much Whose [D—] I Ride?’

Ariana Grande is back – and most definitely back on top.

On Friday, the pop star dropped “Yes, And?”, the first track from her upcoming seventh album.

The music video opens with a group of tortured industry people in an elevator, gossiping about Ms. Grande. But when they enter “The Loft,” everything changes, and they’re charmed — and entertained — once again. After landing on the room of statues about to fall, Grande immediately gets into the flow, recalling everything she’s done as she performs her choreography with a shrug and a smile.

The video, directed by Christian Breslauer, serves as a middle finger to Grande’s detractors as she seemingly suggests that her life has become performance art – but she’s going to give us a show, on her terms.

Ariana Grande dismisses haters (and evokes Madonna!) on Boppy new single ‘Yes, And?’

Grande first started teasing new music in December, when she shared photos from the recording studio on Instagram. Finally she said “Yes, and?” on Monday, much to the delight of her fans — and A-list friends like labelmate Nicki Minaj, who commented, “We’re ready.”

The singer-actress — who will play Glinda in the upcoming Wicked film adaptation — is about to drop a music video for “Yes, And?” on Friday morning at 10 a.m. ET.
