From 1977 to 1981, he pursued his bachelor’s degree in commerce from the Government Hamidiya College of Arts and Commerce, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Later, he received acting training in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

He died in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on January 20, 2022 (2 am) after suffering kidney failure due to a blockage in his brain that led to organ failure, a leading newspaper reported. The news of his death was shared by his nephew Amit Verma. He said in an interview with reporters,
Arunji died at 2 am today and was admitted to Bhopal People’s Hospital. He developed a blockage in his brain, slowly all his organs failed, including his lungs, and he died of kidney failure. “
One of his close friends, comedian Uday Dahia, shared the news of Arun’s death on Facebook. He wrote,
It is with great sadness that I inform you all that my friend actor Arun Verma passed away this morning in Bhopal, may God give him a place at his feet. Om Shanti Shanti Shanti…”
