Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross Talk Stealing from Each Other's Closets: 'Everybody Wants the Coats' (Exclusive)

The pair spoke to PEOPLE about launching a custom tracksuit with Chivas Regal and Falguni Shane Peacock during NYFW

Ashlee Simpson Ross and Evan Ross are couple goals — especially when it comes to their fashion.

The pair revealed they rummage through each other’s closets “all the time” as they discussed their matching styles at the Chivas Regal Golden Hour Soiree during New York Fashion Week on Tuesday.

“I mean, when I feel like I’ve outgrown my closet, I’m in his closet,” Ashlee, 39, shares with PEOPLE in an exclusive chat at the event.

“She steals from my closet a lot more,” explains Evan, 35, as his wife agrees. “I am. He has a great collection of coats, so I’m definitely here for that,” says Ashlee.

The two were present at the launch event for Chivas Regal’s limited edition Golden Hour Glow Up Set, which features matching tailored tracksuits by fashion house Falguni Shane Peacock. The black and gold tracksuits – on offer for Valentine’s Day – are perfect for couples, which is why both Chivas Regal and Falguni Shane Peacock wanted a stylish pair to help them celebrate.

“This collaboration takes on the playful concept of black tie at home that’s relaxed but still evokes hints of luxury through the lens of our design aesthetic—a tailored tracksuit that’s also perfect for lounging around,” designers Falguni and Shane Peacock said in a press release. rid.

When it comes to saving together, Ashlee and Evan say they’ve mastered the process.

“I think we kind of follow each other in a sense,” Evan says.

“If it’s an event or something, or even just a date, it’s going to be whoever finds the look first,” Ashlee tells PEOPLE. “Usually it’s me and you go along with it,” she adds, pointing to her husband.

The pair often step out in coordinated style to events — and when we hear they orchestrate it behind the scenes, the end result becomes that much sweeter. But one thing’s for sure when it comes to their couple’s style — they don’t want to be too coordinated. At least if Ashlee has anything to say about it.

“We’re pretty good with that,” Evan says. “I try to get her to agree with me all the time, but she tries to disagree.”
