Bachelor Joey Graziadei Eliminates 1 Woman After Hometowns Due to the ‘Amount of Doubts’ He Still Had

You can’t always go home again, but Joey Graziadei’s four finalists did just that on Monday’s episode Bachelor.

Joey, 28, met the Daisy, Kelsey A., Marije and Rachel families, starting with Kelsey A. in New Orleans.

He and the junior project manager, 25, started their day down south riding tandem bikes, something Kelsey last did with her late mom. “It feels really special,” said Kelsey A.

She and Joey continued to eat beignets on the bridge and watch the bride take wedding photos. Joey asked Kelsey how she felt seeing the bride.

“That’s like an exciting idea in a few weeks that it might be in the cards for me,” Kelsey replied.

Kelsey also admitted that she felt “pretty freaked out” because she didn’t “really know what could happen” between her and Joey.

The pair headed to Molly’s pub before meeting Kelsey’s family. “I could be happy every day if Kelsey was the person I was with,” Joey said in an on-camera interview.

Kelsey kicked things off by telling her dad Mark about her one-on-one date with Joey in Spain. Mark showed Joey a photo album of Kelsey’s mom before asking him to talk in private.

“I just feel special and lucky to have met her,” Joey told Mark.

Mark informed Joey that he “knew right away” when he met Kelsey’s mom that she was the one. He wanted to know how Joey would know who he was destined to spend forever with.

“It’s hard for me,” Joey admitted. “I have a lot of days where I struggled.”

Then Kelsey broke down in tears as she told her dad that she hopes to find “someone to be there for the hard times.” She continued, “I feel like Joey is really doing it and I can see him doing those things, for sure.”

Mark gave Kelsey his approval for Joey. “To see how he is to you, right? Like, it’s very soothing,” Mark said. “I want you all to feel the feeling I had with your mom.”

After Kelsey was separated from her family, she touched base with Joey.

“I’m so sure of who you are, but like, knowing that other people see that and see our connection, especially my family, and you know they mean so much to me, so for them to validate my feelings, I think that’s all I needed more,” Kelsey said.

They kissed, and Joey told the cameras, “I’d consider myself lucky to be a part of this family.”

RACHEL’S HOMETOWN

Joey headed to Rancho Cucamonga, California to meet Rachel’s family. Before the nurse, 26, introduced Joey to his parents, she briefed him on some Filipino traditions.

Rachel’s mom, Noela, appreciated his inclusion after they met. “I like how he really honored and respected my husband and me,” Noela said in front of the cameras.

Rachel’s family held a pig roast in their backyard. Noela informed Joey that “if a suitor is interested in a woman, he has to eat a pig’s ear,” which he did. “Eating the pig felt really good,” Joey said.

Rachel and Joey then danced the tinikling, a traditional Filipino folk dance. But he should do more than win her mom.

“I wish you the best, obviously, I wish my daughter the best because she was hurt,” Noela told Joey when they spoke privately.

Joey assured Noela, “I wouldn’t be here today to meet you because I know how much it means to her and how much it means to me.”

Noela said the same to Rachel, “He seems like a nice guy, but I’m still wary.”

Meanwhile, Joey asked Rachel’s father, Hakim, for his blessing. “If the time comes, she has my number and you can call me, man to man,” Hakim told Joey.

It didn’t leave Joey with confidence. “I’m leaving this conversation with Rachel’s dad feeling like it wasn’t a no, it just wasn’t a yes,” Joey said in an on-camera interview.

Once Rachel and Joey got some time alone after meeting her family, she made it clear that her parents’ skepticism didn’t affect her feelings. “I’m definitely falling in love with you and I see a future with you,” Rachel told Joey. “Of course, I want it to be us in the end.”

Joey replied, “I’m so happy where we are.”

DAISY’S HOMETOWN

From there, Joey traveled to Becker, Minnesota to pick up Daisy, 25, to introduce him to his family. First, Daisy took Joey around the family’s Christmas tree farm where they exchanged Christmas wishes, fed alpacas and drank hot chocolate.

Some of Daisy’s friends surprised her by showing up at the farm to meet Joey. “This whole experience has honestly changed my perception and my outlook on life,” Daisy told her friends. “And that’s entirely because of him and the way he looked at me and treated me.”

Afterwards, Joey told Daisy, “You deserve everything and more.”

Despite her feelings for Joey, Daisy wanted the safety of her family. “I really need my family to help me sort it out and figure out exactly what I’m feeling because, to be honest, I’m a bit confused,” Daisy told the cameras.

Daisy’s mom Julie said to Joey, “I see the connection.”

The account manager told her mom that she liked Joey “a lot.” “I can definitely see that you really care about each other,” Julie told her daughter.

Daisy admitted to her dad Brandon that she was hesitant to open up to Joey and fall completely in love with him. “If you think you’re falling in love with him, I don’t think there’s any point,” Daisy said.

“I think so,” Daisy admitted.

With that, Brandon encouraged her to “fire the shot”.

So when Daisy and Joey talked at the end of the date, she did. “I’d rather dive into it and I want you to know that I’m falling in love with you and I’ve been falling in love with you,” Daisy told Joey.

The Philadelphia native told the cameras he felt “so happy” to hear it. “It feels so good to finally hear that,” he added.

MARIA’S HOMETOWN

The last hometown of the week brought Joey to Ontario, Canada, where he and 29-year-old Maria started the day by seeing Niagara Falls on the Maid of the Mist.

“I don’t want to have any doubts walking into that house that you want to be here with me and that you can see the future at the end of this,” Joey told Maria. “I just want to feel confident.”

Maria assured, “I don’t want you to think I’ll ever do that again.”

The executive assistant also told Joey that she had never brought anyone home to meet her family.

“How did she go so long in her life without opening up to someone and showing that side of herself?” Joey wondered to the cameras.

However, Joey joined Maria’s family and friends for dinner. “The last thing I want to see is my child get hurt,” Maria’s dad Nick told Joey.

After dinner, Maria talked to her friend Brittany who wanted to know what attracted Maria to Joey. “He’s handsome, come on,” Maria said. “But obviously I felt things I hadn’t felt with him in a long time.”

Maria broke down in tears when she talked to Brittany about the three other women left in the competition. “I really see a future with you two, but I hope you put your heart fully into it,” Brittany suggested to Maria.

Maria’s dad talked to Joey and asked him how things were going with the other three women.

“Maria told me she was falling and it was one of the most special moments we had, but I didn’t say anything because I don’t know how you can say that to four different people,” Joey said.

Nick said he respected that. Joey continued, “Am I totally feeling it with Maria? That. Do I think I can get there? 100 percent.”

That comforted Nick. “If I know you’re the guy she chose, I respect her decision,” he told Joey. “I would have no problem giving you my blessing.”

Nick let Maria know that he had given Joey his blessing. “You were shining, and I haven’t seen that in a long time,” Nick told his daughter.

Maria ended the day with her family watching home videos – and was determined to tell Joey how she really felt later. But when she did, Maria was petrified and just told Joey, “I feel really strongly about you and I know I do and it’s continuing to grow, that’s for sure. I appreciate you being here.”

ROSE CEREMONY

At the start of the rose ceremony, Joey told the remaining four women, “The meaning of this rose is that I felt like we took a step forward in our relationship and I think that’s the most important thing.”

Before Joey could even give a single rose, Maria asked to speak to him.

“By saying goodbye to you the way I did, I feel like I didn’t do it the best way,” Maria told Joey. “Because I told you I could see myself falling in love with you, and the thing is, I can’t, because I’m, like, falling in love with you.”

Maria’s statement didn’t change anything for Joey though. The tennis pro presented roses to Daisy, Kelsey and Rachel.

“We’ve had a bumpy road, but you know I fought for you every time and I chose us,” Joey told Maria when he saw her off. “And I tried everything in my power to get to the point of continuing to see the future. And I went to hometowns with you very open and ready to see what comes next. And you said everything I needed to hear.”

Who went home on Bachelor Season 28? Joey Graziadei’s line of elimination

Joey explained to Maria that he felt it would be “unfair” to continue with her because of “the amount of doubts I have.”

Maria didn’t say much to Joey before getting in the car to leave.

“It makes me sad because it’s like Joey was everything I’ve always wanted and he doesn’t come around very often where I feel that way,” she said to the cameras. “But I should have told him how I felt much sooner than I did and that’s what I regret the most.”
