Barbra Streisand Gives Peak Babs in Beret and Glittering Gold Sequins at 2024 SAG Awards

Barbra Streisand was timeless at the 2024 SAG Awards where she received a lifetime achievement award from the guild.

The singer and actress, 81, dazzled in a gold top and skirt combo layered under an open black jacket with complementary gold floral embroidery on the collar.

Streisand completed the look with a black beret with matching glitter stitching and pulled on black leather gloves.

The Fun girl star took the stage to accept the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award, which is given to those who exemplify “the finest ideals of the acting profession,” according to a press release.

Jennifer Aniston reveals she shared a New Year’s Eve kiss with Barbra Streisand at the 2024 SAG Awards.

Jennifer Aniston and Bradley Cooper, the stars of 2018 A star is born (Streisand starred in the 1976 version), took the stage to introduce the movie icon, where Aniston revealed that she and Streisand once kissed at midnight on New Year’s Eve.

The EGOT winner received a standing ovation when she took the stage, followed by emotional responses from several audience members, including Anne Hathaway, Emma Stone and later Joey King, all of whom were teary-eyed.

After joking that it’s the best award you can get “because you know you’re going to get it,” Streisand began her sentimental acceptance speech, “Thank you SAG-AFTRA. I’m very proud to have been a member for over 60 years. I can’t really believe.”

Streisand — who also made headlines after releasing her revealing memoir, My name is Barbrain November 2023 — became the 59th recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, joining Robert De Niro, Debbie Reynolds and, most recently, Sally Field.

In a statement about the honor, the guild also called the EGOT winner “one of the greatest entertainers of all time.”

“Ever since I was a young girl sitting in the Loew’s Kings Theater in Brooklyn, I dreamed of being one of those actresses I watched on the silver screen,” Streisand said in a statement.

“Movies were a portal to a world I could only imagine,” she continued. “Even though I was an unlikely candidate, my dream somehow came true. This award is especially meaningful to me because it comes from my fellow actors, whom you admire.”

Guild President, Nanny star Fran Drescher, also called Streisand “an icon and unparalleled talent, a force of nature who seamlessly weaved her brilliance through the fabric of our industry” in a statement in December.

The 30th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles and aired live on Netflix on Saturday. Awards were given to the best individual and acting achievements in film and television as voted by fellow actors.
