Around this time every year, popular retailers release new spring collections. And even though it’s still cold where I live, I can’t help but browse (and often buy) them. I’ve learned from past experience that if I wait too long to buy warm weather pieces I love, they sell out quickly, so I buy them now.

Target is among those who dropped their spring styles earlier this year, and I’ve already snagged a few — and I’m eyeing more. New flowy dresses, maxi skirts, layered footwear and handbags are on my radar from A New Day, Wild Fable and Universal Thread.

I hope to add more short dress styles like this one from A New Day to my wardrobe this spring. I love its versatility as a skirt, layered under a sweater or tee, as well as on its own with a pair of sandals. The wide neckline is made of medium weight jersey and has a front slit that gives the dress mobility. One customer called the piece “comfortable and flattering,” while another reviewer said it “flows beautifully.”

I will never miss a luxe looking blazer as it is part of my wardrobe at any time of the year. Most of the ones I already own are neutral shades like tan, brown, and black, so these spring-ready bright green and pink options will add a pop of color to my lineup. I’ll still wear a blazer under my coat in the winter; however, when the weather warms up, I’ll swap the coat for a blazer, which is the perfect spring alternative.

One piece I’ve already bought is this Universal Thread Denim Maxi Skirt, and I can’t wait for it to arrive. I’ve been wearing them a ton this winter with boots, and I can’t get enough — I’ll definitely be wearing skirts in the spring and summer. “It’s really cute and easy to style,” according to one customer who also praised it for being “very flattering.” Although I opted for a medium wash, I’m thinking of grabbing it in a clay pink color as well.
