Here’s a look at Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce’s NFL schedule and how it aligns with Taylor Swift’s Eras tour dates in South America

Will there be an extra seat at the Kelce or Swift Thanksgiving table this year?

With the Nov. 23 holiday fast approaching, fans are speculating if Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will be spending Turkey Day together as their whirlwind romance continues to heat up.

The Thanksgiving celebration together would mark the couple’s first significant outing since the Kansas City Chiefs tight end traveled to Argentina to watch the pop superstar perform in Buenos Aires on Nov. 11 during the South American leg of her Eras Tour.

Their Latin American meeting was made possible by the Chiefs’ bye week, which allowed Kelce free time in his NFL schedule to step away from the game and travel. However, the team returned for the second half of the season, continuing with training and matches.

Similarly, Swift resumed her South American leg of the Eras Tour after a short break in her schedule. After a weekend of shows in Argentina, the singer was spotted with musician Gracie Abrams at Freemans restaurant in Manhattan on November 13.

“There’s always a game. If it’s not Thanksgiving, it’s that weekend,” Kelce’s mom, Donna Kelce, told PEOPLE on Nov. 14. “It’s one of those things that’s just hard. It’s their career, it’s their life, and it’s not to be taken lightly.”

Does Travis Kelce have a game on Thanksgiving?

The Kansas City Chiefs don’t have a game on Thanksgiving, which means Kelce is free to fix the plate and watch other teams play from his couch. According to the Chiefs schedule, the team’s last game before Thanksgiving is Nov. 20 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Monday’s game is highly anticipated, marking the first time the aforementioned teams will meet since the Chiefs won the NFL title against the Birds in the 2022 Super Bowl in February. (That also, of course, means we’ll see Donna Kelce donning her split-team jacket again to cheer on both of her kids; son Jason plays for the Eagles.)

Now that the South American leg of Swift’s Eras Tour is underway, the pop superstar’s schedule has been busy since kicking off in Argentina on Thursday, November 9 with three back-to-back shows (the second of which saw Kelce fly to Argentina to see the singer in action) .

While the night was filled with sweet moments and gestures shared between the Grammy winner and her beau — like when Swift changed the lyrics to her song “Karma” and later ran into Kelce’s waiting arms for a kiss after the performance — the NFL star gave back went to work, so she hasn’t been to the show since then.

Following Swift’s string of concerts in Argentina, she briefly returned to NYC before heading to Brazil to continue the South American leg of her Eras tour on Friday, November 17. Originally scheduled to perform three consecutive concerts at the Estadio Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro, Swift had to change her tour schedule due to the “extreme temperatures in Rio”.

Swift announced the news on her Instagram, postponing her performance on Saturday, November 18. Although she did not specify the new date at the time, event organizer Time for Fun revealed in a later statement that the show has been moved to Monday, November 20, and all tickets for Saturday’s performance remain valid for the new date. (It also means we won’t be seeing Swift in the stands in Kansas City on Monday.)

After the Kansas City Chiefs home game on Monday, Nov. 20 against the Philadelphia Eagles, Kelce’s team does not have a game until Sunday, Nov. 26 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Although Kelce does not have an immediate game the day after Thanksgiving, he will practice all week.

Travis’ mom, Donna Kelce, told PEOPLE that her sons’ NFL schedules mean that since they started their college and professional careers, “I’ve never been in my own home cooking for Christmas or the holidays.”

And they won’t all be together this year “because they have to practice that week,” she told PEOPLE. “We were together when they had their bye week like that… But this year you have to practice every day because you have another game coming up on Sunday… So this week and next week they I’ll practice from Tuesday to Saturday. It’s just the way it goes. ”

Like Travis, Jason and the Philadelphia Eagles will have their first game after Thanksgiving on Sunday, November 26th.

Swift’s performance on Monday, November 20 marks her last concert before Thanksgiving. However, right after the holidays, he resumes the tour on Friday, November 24, where he will perform three consecutive nights in São Paulo, Brazil.

As for how Donna plans to celebrate Turkey Day, she said she will be in Philadelphia. “There’s always a game,” she told PEOPLE on Nov. 14.

“If it’s not Thanksgiving, it’s that weekend,” she explained. “So I go to whoever’s at home, and if they’re both at home, I have to decide in April which games I’m going to and which games I’m not going to.”

“This year, they’re both playing Christmas Day, it’s going to stink,” the mother of two continued. “But it’s one of those things that’s just tough. It’s their career, it’s their life, and it’s not to be taken lightly … there’s a lot of kids and other players on the team that need you and you support the team. That that’s just how it works.”

Earlier in November, Donna told PEOPLE that she’s “not really sure what Travis’ plans are;” although she was firm in her plans. “But I know I’ll be in Philly because [Jason] he’s got a game that Sunday in Philadelphia, so I’ll definitely be there for that game.”

The Kelce family’s holiday celebrations haven’t looked traditional since Travis and Jason started playing for the University of Cincinnati, he also reveals. “Ever since they were in college, we’ve always been on the road,” Donna said. “It’s just the life of an NFL mom. It’s always work so you have to go where they are.”
