Chase’s time at the center was marked by his outstanding academic achievements, as he received the highest possible grade point average, a testament to his dedication and intelligence.
His presence brought immense joy to his mother’s heart, and he went above and beyond his duties as a security officer by taking responsibility for the training of his younger sister, Minnie. Chase is survived by his daughter Tammy (David) Donley of Brighton, his son Scott (Becky) Murphy of Greeley and his beloved grandchildren Bryan Mollendor, Cheyenne Donley, Chase Donley, Jolee Murphy and Jayla Murphy. He is also survived by his siblings Betty Mackleroth of Lakewood, Wally (Monteen) Murphy of Mt Morris, PA, Joe Murphy of Grand Lake and Shirley Gilmer of Virginia.
Chase had a large extended family and close-knit group of friends from Virginia. Although he faced the unfortunate loss of his wife Ida, parents and three brothers, Max Sterling, Eddie Paul Sterling and Gerald Murphy, before his own death, Chase’s memory will be forever cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
