Denise Richards on Her RHOBH ‘Comeback Moment’ That Went ‘F—ing Sideways’: ‘Made an A–hole Out of Myself’

Denise Richards knows her last appearance on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was not her best moment.

While appearing on Podcast One’s Featured with Melissa GorgaRichards, 52, admitted that what was supposed to be her “comeback moment” on the hit Bravo show went awry when she got into an incoherent fight with Erika Girardi at Kyle Richards’ THC dinner.

The Two and a half Men alum explained that she considered skipping the dinner after coming down with the virus. After three negative tests for COVID, she “stupidly” decided to show her face, but told the producers that she would not consume cannabis on the menu.

“I didn’t want to not go because I didn’t want to [the housewives] to say, ‘Oh, she didn’t show up,'” she added. “But whatever… I made an ass of myself.”

Richards touched the headlines that arose after her appearance on the reality show, nothing like the other housewives had their fair share of embarrassing moments.

“Then why did everyone make such a big deal about me?” she asked, before being assured by Melissa Gorga that her “superstar” status and her “bubbly personality” made her an object of interest among Bravo fans.

Richards joked that her return to RHOBH ended with comments like, “Oh, she’s here and look at her, she’s so fucking sideways!”

“When I came home [my husband]like, ‘What’s… wrong?'” she laughed.

On RHOBH, Richards shocked viewers and her former cast members when she became increasingly drunk at a THC-fueled group dinner. With a contorted face, slurred speech and a failed attempt to confront Girardi, Richards left the party wearing her pink fur jacket inside out.

Elsewhere in the podcast, Gorga asked Richards to clarify her confrontation with Girardi and the answers she sought. The Scary movie 3 star revealed that she’s not “mad” at Girardi and kicked off the night by pointing out that the “XXXPEN$IVE” singer was a lot nicer without Lisa Rinna around.

Richards claimed that she wanted to know what had changed and why she had been hounded so hard during her work RHOBH.

In his own performance at Meghan McCain joined the chat podcast in October 2023, Girardi shared her perspective on her interaction with Richards during the filming of the final season.

“Denise came looking for a fight,” she explained. “We had a THC dinner at Kyle’s house… I was feeling really good and Denise came over there to start a fight and I politely didn’t [engage].”

Girardi claimed she “didn’t know what the hell she was talking about” and added that she felt Richards should have saved the drama for “Teddi [Mellencamp]or Brandi [Glanville] or Lisa Rinna” for which she “didn’t have the balls”.

“I just apologized and she was very inarticulate,” she recalled, adding that she eventually “let it go” after failed attempts to let things go. “And that’s what you see in the trailer, it was just that, you know, on the first night I apologized. I took the high road.”

“She called me derogatory names,” the singer continued. “She called me a bot-monster, saying I sent those bots to Garcelle [Beauvais]son and that was not true. I said I’m really sorry, I’m not really sure what you’re talking about and what you’ve done to my family.”
