At the time, William’s associates described the impromptu performance as completely “out of the ordinary,” and the Prince of Wales shared new details about how it all happened in a special Christmas episode of Apple Fitness+ It’s time for a walk series, which premiered in December 2021.

Mentioning that he was thrilled to see Bon Jovi, 61, and Swift at the event, the prince said he spontaneously followed the “Enchanted” singer on stage after she pitched the idea.

“I’m sitting next to Taylor Swift. She’s on my left. And after Jon sings his first song, there’s a pause, and she turns to me. She puts her hand on my arm, looks me in the eye, and says, ‘Come on, William “Let’s go sing,” he recalls.

“To this day, I still don’t know what hit me. Honestly, even now I cringe at what happened next and I don’t understand why I gave in. But honestly, if Taylor Swift looks you in the face, touches your hand and says , ‘Come with me…’ I stood up like a puppy and said, ‘Yeah, okay, that seems like a great idea. I’ll follow you,'” William recalled. It’s time for a walk.

Despite a wave of hesitation, William revealed why he decided to stick with it.
