Deepika was born on August 6, 1986 in Pune, Maharashtra, India. She has been interested in dancing and acting since she was a child, and has always dreamed of becoming an actress. Her dream came true when she got her first role in the TV series Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi. She gained immense fame for her role as Simar Prem Bharadwaj in the TV series Sasural Simar Ka. She was supposed to make her Bollywood debut in JP Dutta’s film Paltan.

She was educated from CBSE board and graduated from Bombay University, Mumbai. After completing her studies, she started working as a flight attendant with Jet Airways for almost three years but due to some health issues, she quit her job and joined the entertainment industry. She made her acting debut in 2010 when she played the role of Lakshmi in the television series Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi aired on Imagine TV. In 2011, she played the lead role for the first time in the TV series Sasural Simar Ka, playing the role of Simar Prem Bharadwaj.
She made a guest appearance in the dance reality show “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” Season 7 in 2014 and in the comedy show “Comedy Nights with Kapil” in 2015. In the same year, she participated in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 8. During 2017, she participated in another dance reality show “Nach Baliye Season 8” with her dance partner Shoaib Ibrahim and reached the top four finals.
