DJ Khaled’s 2 Kids: All About Asahd and Aalam

DJ Khaled loves being a father.

The singer of the song “I’m The One” and his fiancee Nicole Tuck are the proud parents of two boys: Asahd (7) and Aalam (4), who were born in 2016 and 2020, respectively.

For Khaled, becoming a father is a dream come true. “I always wanted to be a dad,” he said Parents in December 2020. “I couldn’t wait to have kids — it’s something I’ve talked about most of my adult life.”

As he told PEOPLE during an April 2021 interview, fatherhood is everything he hoped for and more.

“God blessed me with two beautiful boys, a beautiful queen and mother [Nicole Tuck] and blessed me to be a great father,” he said. “This is the best feeling I’ve ever felt in my life because it’s pure. There really are no words to describe the feeling unless you are a mother or a father. That’s just the truth. It’s a feeling they haven’t even come up with a word for yet, and it’s incredible.”

He continued, “It’s so nice when you can teach a child to be big because they’re born big. And [when] you give them real knowledge and real love, it’s incredible. Genius levels at the highest level,” adds the musician … I cry every day, man. I cry with happiness when I see my children. Everything revolves around them.”

These days, Khaled and Tuck are enjoying life as a family of four and the couple often share moments of their sons on social media. In October 2022, Khaled shared a video of the boys together picking corn. A month earlier, the musician shared a video of the whole family spending a day at the beach.

The boys also joined their parents on the red carpet. On February 5, 2023, the family of four attended the 65th Grammy Awards in matching outfits. Both Khaled and Aalam were dressed in all black, while Tuck and Asahd wore leopard print black.

“Having children is the truest form of love,” Khaled told PEOPLE at the event. “There are no words to explain.”

Khaled gushed about his kids again during an appearance on February 28, 2023 Show Jennifer Hudson. “My children have changed my life. After I had my children, these are my boys. They are Asahd and Aalam,” he said of his sons.

Khaled then recalled mentioning his family when accepting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “I just thanked my wife and kids for taking care of me. For my work schedule, for the long hours at home with the music and the artists coming or me traveling. That’s all I kept thinking about,” he said.

Here’s everything you need to know about DJ Khaled’s kids.

Asahd Tuck Khaled was born on October 23, 2016. Asahd, which means “lion” in Arabic, weighed 7 lbs., 14 oz. and Khaled documented his entire birth on Snapchat.

When Asahd was just 4 months old, he received a special gift from his dad’s friends, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, to help him launch his music career and follow in his dad’s footsteps. The couple gave child Asahd a miniature white piano with Keys song lyrics handwritten on top.

A few years later, when Asahd was 2, he surprised his dad by saying Khaled’s famous catchphrase for the first time.

“My queen put my son on the bed and the son said ‘We are the best,'” the proud dad recalled. “That was the first time he said that in his life… I got away with it.”

Asahd also helps his dad in the studio — and even has a few credits as an executive producer. In March 2021, Khaled shared a photo of him and Asahd working on his next release. “FASHION ALBUM ! KHALED KHALED ! Executive proud @asahdkhaled!” he wrote a photo in which the father and son duo are holding the sign no. 1.

The seven-year-old is also enjoying being a big brother to Aalamu and was very excited to get a little sibling.

“He was kissing my queen’s belly,” Khaled told PEOPLE in April 2021. “And him 1705948736 grab his face and kiss him every day. He wakes up and wants to go kiss his brother. The way she grabs his face and kisses him is so amazing. It’s wonderful.”

Tuck added: “He takes care of him. He’s a really good big brother even though he feels small. It’s really sweet… They really love each other and Aalam really looks up to him.”

Khaled shared with Parents that one of his and Asahd’s favorite activities together is riding in the family’s golf cart.

“We do this thing after lunch where we ride together in a golf cart, just him and me,” Khaled said. “It’s our time. He tells me everything he’s doing and what he’s been thinking about. And I tell him about how proud we are of him and how well he’s doing in school and how great it is to be a big brother. It’s really peaceful. That is like our time from man to man.”

Asahd has his own Instagram account with more than 1.5 million followers, where his parents document everything he’s up to, including watching F1 races and playing basketball. In June 2022, Asahd left kindergarten, and his parents shared a photo of him in a cap and gown on Instagram. “I made it!!! First grade!! 🙏🏽❤️🦁🌎,” read the caption.

While Asahd may be young, Khaled revealed that his son already has a strong sense of style.

“Every morning [he] he wakes me up with a pair of sneakers and tells me those are the sneakers he’s going to wear,” Khaled told PEOPLE in August 2023. “Or he’ll grab one of my sneakers that’s not there and say he wants to figure it out.”

He added: “My son is 6 years old and how deep he is in sneaker culture is so amazing and I think it’s so beautiful.”

Aalam Khaled was born on January 20, 2020. Khaled shared the news on Instagram, posting a series of photos of himself posing with Tuck’s doctor in the hospital’s delivery room. He later revealed his second son’s name and the meaning behind the nickname while accepting the Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Performance.

“I want to thank my beautiful Queen Nicole. I just had a new baby boy a week ago,” he continued, sharing his newborn’s nickname and explaining, “It means ‘world’ in Arabic,” he said during his speech.

A few days later, Khaled shared the first photo of baby Aalam on Instagram. It shows newborn Aalam lying next to his big brother Asahd with the caption: “Brothers! Asahd! AND Aalam! WE THE BEST! MORE LOVE, MORE BLESSINGS!”

As much as Asahd loves being a big brother, Aalam enjoys looking up to him.

“He watches everything he does so intently and is like ‘What’s Asahd doing?’ … They really learn and teach each other,” Tuck told PEOPLE in April 2021. “They’re going to protect each other forever. … Some kids fight with each other, but not these two. They love each other so much. That is so sweet.”

Aalam is also his father’s number 1 fan. He even helped celebrate Khaled’s album, God isat the top of the Billboard charts in an adorable Instagram video.

Like his brother, the little one has his own Instagram profile. In June 2022, Aalam cut his hair for the first time in honor of Father’s Day, which was shared in a sweet Instagram post. For Mother’s Day 2022, he shared a video on Instagram with his dad to wish his mom a “Happy Mother’s Day.”

Like his father, Aalam loves music. Khaled shared with Parents that it is a large part of their common acres.

“Every morning I start with a prayer. Then I go downstairs and kiss Nicole, Asahd and Aalam and get music,” he shared. “These days we listen to a lot of reggae and salsa. Also Sade and Aretha Franklin. Music is a big part of our lives. I have my turntables and I let Asahd scratch the records.”

In January 2023, Aalam turned 3 and his family celebrated the milestone with a circus-themed party. The boy’s parents turned the warehouse into a large play area, complete with rides, games and even a lion.

“The budget was big,” Khaled said during an appearance on Feb. 28, 2023 Show Jennifer Hudson.
