A Broadway production telling her life story was Parton’s dream, she told PEOPLE in January.

“I’m currently working on my life story as a musical, so to go to Broadway and open my own show on Broadway is a big deal [goal] in my mind for many, many years,” she told PEOPLE. “That would be one that I want to make sure I finish while I’m still running, while I’m around to stay involved in it.”
