Eugene Levy Reunites with Jason Biggs 25 Years After American Pie at Walk of Fame Ceremony: ‘My Second Son’

It’s a Levenstein family reunion!

As Eugene Levy appeared on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles on Friday for a star ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the actor and comedian, 77, acknowledged his American Pie costar Jason Biggs, who was in attendance.

“Unfortunately my son Daniel couldn’t be here today. He’s shooting a movie in Bulgaria and tell me that doesn’t sound like an episode right after Schitt’s Creek, but it’s true. My other son, Jim, is here, from American PieLevy said during his speech.

“I love the fact that you’re here, Jason, honestly,” he added of Biggs, 45.

Levy portrayed Biggs’ father American Pie character Jim in the original 1999 entry of the raunchy franchise and has retained the role in many sequels over the years, most recently appearing in 2012. American Reunion.

Levy and Biggs also starred in the series with Alyson Hannigan, Chris Klein, Natasha Lyonne, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Seann William Scott and Tara Reid, among others. The original follows high school students’ attempts to lose their virginity before graduation.

Levy, who has been acting, writing and producing since the 1970s, became the 2,773rd person in the entertainment industry to receive a star on Hollywood Boulevard. His daughter Sarah Levy and Catherine O’Hara, who both starred with Eugene in Schitt’s Creekhe paid tribute to Eugene during the ceremony.

“If you know me at all, you know how uncomfortable this day is for me knowing that you all uprooted your schedules to be here,” Levy joked to the crowd gathered at his ceremony.

“Especially my grandson, my little grandson James – he could be watching the fire engine right now, but no. He chose to be here, so thank you, Jamesy. Grandpa loves you.”

Eugene’s real-life son Dan, 40, recently joked during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show that his high school classmates thought American Pie the films may have been based on his own life given his father’s role in the series.

“For most of my high school life, people thought the movie was, like, a biography of my life,” Dan said. “Which is really unfortunate, because I would have killed to have had such an interesting life. There were no pies—I don’t even know the ingredients of apple pie, but that’s a whole other conversation.”
