Eva Longoria Looks Back at 20 Years of Desperate Housewives and Jokes, 'I Haven't Aged!'

Eva Longoria reflects on her experience at Housewives nearly two decades after the series premiered.

During her performance at Today with Hoda and Jennahost Hoda Kotb asked if this year marks the 20th anniversary of the hit ABC drama series.

“Yes, in 2004! 20. And I haven’t aged,” Longoria, 49, replied, and Jenna Bush Hager added, “By the way, you haven’t! … You look great!”

“I’m kidding, I’m kidding,” clarified the actress – who played Gabrielle Solis in the popular 2000s series. “But yeah, I was a baby, are you kidding me? I look like that… I was a baby.”

When asked what she thinks when she sees old clips from the show, Longoria admitted that she regrets the fashion.

“I think, ‘Whose smart idea was it to have those skinny jeans with a zipper this big, below the hips?’ WHO?” she shared.

“They were low. I mean, low, low, low… nobody misses them, not at all,” she added.

Longoria also addressed how Housewives – which lasted from 2004 to 2012 for eight seasons – “changed everything” for her.

“It was a decade of my life and it was the number 1 fashion show in the world, so I just remember the first time I went to London, I had never been to London before and there was a huge crowd of people outside the hotel,” she recalled. “And I was like, ‘God, who’s here? Is Bono here? Someone important must be here!’ And the driver said, ‘… You…’ And I said, ‘No, someone like that, big. Like a big deal!’”

“And he didn’t understand that I didn’t understand. The global reach of that show, at a time when there was no streaming,” she added.

During the performance at Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in June 2023, Longoria stated that she would “be the first to sign up” for a series reboot if it ever materializes.

The actress noted that her former colleagues may not be so enthusiastic. “I think I would be the only one who would sign up,” she laughed.

Longoria admitted to host Andy Cohen that she hasn’t quite gotten rid of her beloved character. “I miss Gabby,” she said.

“Gabby would definitely be an influencer. She would be an Instagramer,” the actress revealed when asked where she thinks her character would be today.

While Longoria would love to revisit Wisteria Lane — the fictional street featured in the hit series — she said the cast has been hard at work throughout the show’s eight seasons. “We used to do 24 episodes a season, and we did that for eight years,” Longoria said. “We totally dug those characters — none of these six episodes per season s—.”

“There was no one else on the street I would sleep with. I slept with everyone,” she added jokingly.
