German media turns on Harry Kane as England star slammed for ‘hanging around alone’ and going missing in big games

GERMAN media have turned their attention to Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane despite his prolific run in the Bundesliga.

Kane joined Bayern last summer in a massive £104m transfer from Tottenham and has not stopped scoring since.

In 52 appearances in all competitions, the 31-year-old scored 54 goals and registered 17 assists.

He won the Bundesliga golden boot at the end of his first season and broke numerous records along the way.

However, German newspaper Bild accused Kane of missing big games.

After Bayern’s 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, journalist Walter M. Straten wrote in a column: “Too much effort, too little success. Harry Kane is hanging alone in attack.

“What will three goals against Kiel do for him if he doesn’t even get a shot on goal in a big game like yesterday?

“Fairness dictates that we shouldn’t release Kane’s can’t-win-the-title curse now. Especially since he had to leave injured.”

Kane suffered an ankle injury late in the game and was forced off in the 86th minute.

Bayern’s statement read: “Harry Kane suffered a painful knock on his ankle in Bayern’s Bundesliga match at home to Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.

“Inspections of the club’s medical unit on Sunday confirmed a positive development.

“Kane will continue to receive appropriate treatment.”
