Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner Considers Himself a Breakup ‘Novice’ Despite the Fact He ‘Did It 21 Times’

Gerry Turner admits he is still troubled by the thought of breaking up despite the practice he has had The Golden Bachelor.

Although he was responsible for sending home 21 ladies who competed for his heart, Gerry admitted that his task was never easier during his time on the reality dating show.

“I would absolutely not consider myself qualified to teach a course on healthy breakups. Just because I’ve done it 21 times doesn’t mean I’m an expert!” he joked in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “It’s like being a rookie 21 times over.”

The Golden Bachelor: Gerry faces the ‘impossible situation’ of eliminating 1 woman after finding love with all three

Really, Bachelor fans saw how forgiveness each week took its toll on Gerry, who suffered heartbreak at multiple points in the series as he sent the ladies home.

“Each of those exit interviews felt different from the others,” he said of the tough breaks he had to initiate on his journey to love. “Because of the individual, I had a different reaction to it, but the underlying consensus across the board was sadness because everyone had to go.”

After visiting the hometowns of Faith, Leslie and Therese, Gerry broke down during the rose ceremony and told host Jesse Palmer: “I know what I want to do. I just don’t want to do it.”

Hometowns are on the horizon for the Golden Bachelor. With only three roses remaining, the final six women face the possibility that their fairy tale with Gerry Turner may not have a happy ending, and Gerry must make his toughest decisions yet.

Finally, he gave the rose to Theresa and sent Faith, who received the Rose First Impression, home. Sending her off after her elimination, Faith cried and admitted she felt “stiff”.

“It’s going to be a while before I figure it out, if I ever do,” Faith said. “Maybe it was all just in my own head. I really do not know. I feel like we connected on a level where I was ready to marry the guy. I wanted a lot more for myself.”

In last week’s episode of Women Tell All, Faith and Gerry reunited for the first time since their split. After taking the stage, Faith broke down in tears as she began discussing her elimination.

She shared with others: “It’s painful. It’s hard because for the last, I don’t know, 20 years, I haven’t really opened up to love, so I was going into this, I really thought, ‘OK. If I feel anything, I’ll go all in.’ And that broke me.”

When Gerry joined her on stage, the pair embraced emotionally, crying as they held each other.

Faith finally spoke to Gerry, saying, “I think the first thing I want to say from day one is that I felt that we [had] that connection, that safe place. But when I looked up the day you saw me off, it was like looking at a stranger. So I felt this complete disconnection. That was the most devastating for me. We left our hometowns – the way we left each other was so great – and then there was just nothing.”

“It’s nothing,” he replied. “Believe me, I thought about that night and those moments when I told you I loved you and in those moments I did.” I truly loved you. I felt like I built and created something with you only to have it destroyed in a short moment.”
