She is the new celebrity in the famous family of Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.
On February 11, after the 2024 Super Bowl, Hawn, 78, announced on Instagram that the dog she shares with Russell, 72, had appeared in a Super Bowl ad.
“Don’t get me wrong I love watching football but tonight was all about watching our dog Roy Hawn Russell in his first super bowl commercial for @budweiserus!!!” the actress captioned her social media post, which included a video of her and Russell watching a dog commercial with their family.
Roy Hawn Russell, a Labrador retriever, appeared in Budweiser’s “Old-School Delivery” commercial. In the video, the famous dog leads a team of Clydesdale horses to a snowy bar without electricity so the animals can deliver Budweiser beer.
“Budweiser’s beloved Clydesdale and canine duo are an iconic part of our Super Bowl history. Roy, who helped bring the role of the faithful Labrador to life, is a real pro! He played the part perfectly and helped convey the message of resilience, camaraderie and determination. He deserves all the treats,” Kristina Punwani, head of marketing at Budweiser USA, said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.
In Hawn’s Instagram clip, Hawn watches a Roy commercial with Russell and a few others.
Soba stares at the TV, waiting for Lab to appear. When Russell spots the dog on the screen, he shouts, “There he is Roy!” before rooting for the puppy.

“Yes, Roy!” he adds as the rest of the room breaks into excited shouts and applause.

Hawn’s daughter, Kate Hudson, who was with her mom at the 2024 Super Bowl, also shared a video of her reaction to Roy’s ad. In Hudson’s Instagram post, the actress, 44, watches a dog commercial with others; when he hears a scream from the other room, he walks over to find Hawn, Russell, and a few other people cheering. The clip ends with Roy receiving pets with cards from his loved ones.
“There’s a lot of actors in these families, but tonight there was only one star,” Hudson captioned the video, including the hashtag #hollywoodroylaty.
