Gregg Wallace FURIOUS at John Torode & unfollows him & wife Lisa Faulkner after MasterChef co-host fails to defend him

GREGG Wallace is furious with his MasterChef co-host John Torode for not speaking up in his own defense amid a flood of allegations about his behaviour.

Friends claimed Gregg, 60, was upset that John, 59, had remained silent following the bombastic claims from famous stars including Sir Rod Stewart, Kirsty Wark and Ulrika Jonsson.

Gregg has now unfollowed John and his wife Lisa Faulkner on Instagram in a public show of anger.

A source said: “Gregg is absolutely furious and is convinced he has done nothing wrong.

“Seeing John silent in the middle of all this made him very angry. Gregg and John have been colleagues for almost two decades and although they are not the closest of friends, Gregg feels that John might have something to say.

“He has now deleted them from his Instagram account and unfollowed them both.

“It might seem like a no-brainer to Gregg, but he’s furious about how this all played out.”

Gregg and John have co-hosted MasterChef since 2005. John was best man at Gregg’s wedding to wife Anne-Maire Sterpini in 2016, but the following year John publicly distanced himself from Gregg.

He said: “It’s funny, we were never friends.

“We were not at each other’s house. If we go somewhere like South Africa, we do things separately.

“If we do go out for a drink, I’ll always be at one end of the big old table and he’ll be at the other.”

John also alluded to a row with Gregg on the set of MasterChef, saying: “One time we had a bit too much to drink and the shoot was cancelled.

“We ended up having a big argument about one of the contestants, and he got really stubborn – it was funny. We’ve had a few disagreements over the years, about contestants, and I just had to walk away from him.”

In April this year, Gregg appeared on ITV’s Lorraine and insisted he was close to John.

He said: “I shoot with John for six or seven months of the year, so physically we’re very close to each other and emotionally we’re very close to each other.

“What’s great about the partnership is that if one of you is a bit withdrawn, a bit off, the other naturally steps up, so I lean on John a lot.”

The Sun first revealed how a young staffer who worked on the BBC show complained about his behavior in October.

Last week, Gregg stepped down from MasterChef after the production company behind MasterChef, Banijay UK, confirmed it had launched an investigation into his conduct following a series of allegations against him.

The women, including Newsnight presenter Kirsty and Times Radio presenter Aasmah Mir, both confirmed they complained to the BBC about Gregg when they appeared on Celebrity MasterChef.

Gregg was widely ridiculed after he hit back at the allegations and said the complaints came from “a handful of middle-class women of a certain age”.

JK wrote online: “If only his colleagues had been young working-class women, ideally with some job security, none of this would have happened.”

The Sun understands that at least 13 people complained about Gregg’s behavior while working with him between 2005 and 2022. The allegations span across five BBC shows he worked on.

Gregg, who has denied any behavior of a “sexually harassing nature”, is accused of joking about rape, removing his top in front of the clerk and talking about his sex life.
