PRINCE Harry has told how excited he is to turn 40 – but he didn’t mention his wife in his birthday message.
In an 84-word statement ahead of his landmark celebrations tomorrow, he praised his two children and said he was “committed to making this world a better place”.

Harry, who will also inherit £8million from the late Queen Mother on Sunday, added that while he was “anxious” to turn 30, he is now “excited” to turn 40.
He said: “Regardless of age, my mission is to keep showing up and doing good in the world.”
He then described how being a dad to the “incredibly good and funny” five-year-old Archie and sister Lilibet, three, is one of life’s “greatest joys”.
But one thing was clearly missing from Harry’s statement – his wife Meghan.
The apparent omission – rare for the prince, who usually gushes about the woman he married six years ago – set tongues wagging again.
The statement comes after friends claim the royal family is now reduced to Meghan’s “plus one” at events, something which has fans fearing the worst.

Harry and Meghan said they will celebrate tomorrow’s milestone birthday at their home in Montecito, California.
The silent tussle is likely to feature strong performances mostly from Meghan’s Hollywood pals, as insiders insist poor old Harry’s friend group across the Atlantic is a bit weak.

A source told us: “The security guard is an Englishman who moved to Montecito with his family. He and Harry are very close, very close. Thick as thieves.”
They added that Harry has also been transferred to Meghan’s “plus one” for events.
This week he appeared at the opening of a bookstore run by two of her friends, literary agent Jennifer Rudolph Walsh and cosmetics executive Victoria Jackson.
A source said: “The event summed up Harry’s life in a nutshell. He was more of a plus-one than an equal there — someone useful for an image on social networks.
“His circle of friends is led by Meghan. It seems that his social life is increasingly led and built by her.”
But Harry has his weekend mountain getaway planned, which some of his friends from England are expected to attend.

However, few of his old Etonian group are likely to turn up following the split with brother Prince William.
We can reveal that pop royalty Elton John, a close friend of Harry and Meghan, has decided to send the prince flowers instead of a visit – and friend James Corden is busy filming Gavin and Stacey in Wales.
The manager of a local flower shop, Felipe Sandoval, said: “Elton always orders orchids in a white container and we coordinate delivery with them for Harry’s birthday.
“He sent the same thing for the Duchess of Sussex’s birthday.”
Those who know Harry are hoping the weekend will lift his spirits.
They fear that despite his upbeat birthday statement, he’s actually going deeper into a funk as life in the US increasingly rejects him.

An old friend told The Times last month that Harry is now “a very angry boy”, adding: “Everyone who knows him feels that he would rather be in the front when everyone loves him, as they do with William and Kate.”

Former nightclub owner and best friend Guy Pelly threw a huge party for him at Clarence House, where guests partied with champagne and claret sent by Harry’s dad, Charles.
Pop singer Ellie Goulding performed at the party, which ended with a ski-themed disco, complete with fake snow.
Royal expert Phil Dampier said: “When Harry turned 30, he was thought to be down-to-earth, the type of people who could imagine having a pint in the pub. It’s amazing to see how much things have changed in those ten years. His popularity plummeted.
“I’m not sure who will come to Harry’s 40th party because he seems very isolated and dependent on Meghan.
“He even seems to have lost touch with Guy Pelly, who organized his 30th birthday party because, although they both live in America, they don’t seem to see each other very often.”
Polls now place Harry as the third least popular British royal family, with only wife Meghan and disgraced Prince Andrew less popular.
He shared many friends with his brother and most are believed to have sided with Prince William in the family war.
Friend Nicky Scott, who went to Eton with Harry, has been seen in Montecito, while polo star Nacho Figueras is also friends with him.
But of his popularity in glitzy LA, US royal commentator Kinsey Schofield said: “Celebrities know they have to pick a side or the other and say ‘we want to stick with the royal family’.”

The first signs of friction reportedly emerged after William was introduced to Meghan while she was staying at Kensington Palace.
After she returned home to Canada, William and Harry sat down for a brotherly chat.
He knew that Harry had already fallen for her, but it was claimed that he had advised him to take it easy.
The younger prince reportedly didn’t take the advice too well, with one royal source saying he was “going crazy”.
Then, in June 2019, Harry and Meghan officially split from the charity they shared with William and Kate.
The royal foundation will be split between the Sussexes and Cambridges as the couple focus on their separate charitable endeavours.
Prince William and Prince Harry first established the Royal Foundation in 2009 before Kate joined it two years later, shortly after their engagement was announced.
