MORE than three decades since he topped the charts with the singing classic The One And Only, Chesney Hawkes is aiming for another No.1.
The British legend co-wrote the track with top producer Jake Gosling – who has worked with Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran and One Direction – and is set to release it later this month.

The single, Get A Hold Of Yourself, will have its exclusive premiere on Radio 2 on September 18 and is part of a major new music project from Chesney due next year.
He told me: “It’s really strange to relive all this – three decades later and with three decades worth of growing up.
“It took a long time to feel confident enough to really get back into the project, but growing up and feeling a lot more comfortable and free in myself allowed that to happen.
“That’s what Get A Hold Of Yourself is all about – holding your own and being free and not worrying about what people think.
“I think people will be surprised that this is a Chesney track.
“I can’t wait for people to hear it and I think the video for it will surprise them!”
It will be good to have Chesney back.

BOWLING FOR SOUP frontman Jaret Reddick says the band’s badass guitarist Chris Burney is appearing on their contribution to Disney’s new punk-pop album A Whole New Sound, despite being in the hospital.
He told me from his home in the US: “Chris couldn’t play the song, Friend Like Me, but there’s a part of the song that says, ‘You big nabob’, and that’s Chris.

“That’s him from his hospital bed, into his phone, saying ‘You big bastard’.
“We had to include him any way we could.”

A dance with chaos
ST VINCENT opened up about her album All Born Screaming.
She told Wallpaper magazine: “Between the theme of the album, which is black and white and all the colors of fire, you’re alive and then you’re really fucking dead.
“The rest is a dance with chaos.”

Back in action
ROCKER LINKIN PARK have announced their comeback – seven years after the suicide of their frontman Chester Bennington.
They will release the album From Zero on November 15, and as part of the tour, they will be playing in London’s O2 Arena on September 24.

A new song by The Emptiness Machine is out.
Dead Sara’s Emily Armstrong joined the band as a frontman, with Colin Brittain on drums.
They join Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix and Joe Hahn.
Mike said: “Our first band was called Xero.
“This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we are currently on.”

Referring to her breakup with Shawn in late 2021 in the song Godspeed, Camila appears to address Sabrina’s claim that she taught Shawn how to be funny.
Camila sings, “I don’t think your jokes sound funny anymore.”
She adds: “And I hope you find some peace. God’s blessing.”
