Jane's Addiction's Perry Farrell Steps Out with Wife After Band Cancels Reunion Tour Following Onstage Fight

Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell came out this weekend after a public onstage incident earlier this month caused the band to cancel an upcoming reunion tour.

On Friday, September 27, Farrell, 65, and his wife Etty Lau Farrell were spotted walking their dogs in Santa Monica, California.

The couple wore casual clothes as they kept their two pets on a leash. The release marks Farrell’s first public performance since the incident that occurred during Jane’s Addiction’s Sept. 13 show in Boston, during which Farrell punched guitarist Dave Navarro.

Perry Farrell and wife Etty are dating on September 27, 2024.

The band was performing at the Leader Bank Pavilion when an argument broke out between Navarro, 57, and Farrell during a performance of their song “Ocean Size” from the group’s 1988 album. Nothing shocking.

In a video of the incident posted on YouTube, Farrell appeared to become angry as he repeated what appeared to be a chant to the crowd, before turning to Navarro and telling him so.

Farrell then appeared to shout “f— you!” while attacking Navarro, who tried to hold back his bandmate. Farrell then fired at Navarro. People could be seen running on stage to restrain Farrell, and the concert ended immediately.

In the days following the incident, the band apologized and canceled the upcoming show.

“We want to apologize from the bottom of our hearts to our fans for the events that took place last night,” the band said in a statement.

Ety also shared her own Instagram post on September 14, recounting her “first-person account” of what happened during the September 13 show.

She wrote in part: “There was obviously a lot of tension and animosity between the members… the magic that made the band so dynamic. Well, the dynamite is lit. Perry stood up in Dave’s face and the body stopped him.”

“Perry’s frustration grew night after night, he felt the volume on stage was extremely loud and his voice was drowning out the band,” she continued, adding that her husband “suffered from tinnitus and sore throat every night.”

“But when the crowd in the front row started heckling Perry, swearing that the band was planning too loud and they couldn’t hear him, Perry freaked out,” she wrote.

Jane’s Addiction later announced in a social media post on September 16 that the remainder of their reunion tour had been cancelled.

“For all fans, the band has made the difficult decision to take some time as a group,” the statement read. “As such, they will be canceling the rest of the tour.”

The statement added that “refunds for canceled dates will be issued in [fans’] point of purchase.” The band’s social networks then directed those who purchased tickets through outlets such as StubHub and SeatGeek to contact the companies directly for refunds.
