Joey King solved it all — literally!
On Friday, October 25 at A family affair The 25-year-old actress shared a video of a wardrobe malfunction on social media that she managed to avoid.
“The face of the future is what they were promised… I am what they got,” she captioned the Instagram clip.
Video showed King rising from her table at the 2024 Women in Film Honors Gala at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 24.
As the actress made her way to the stage in a gray pantsuit, she made a very surprised face and hurried to grab the buttons on her jacket. When she came to the podium, she told what had just happened.
“Wow, what a perfect time to have my shirt open when I’m not wearing a bra,” King said.
During her walk from her table to the stage, a sea of patrons had their phones out to record the extraordinary incident – which could have led to a very embarrassing moment if her reflexes weren’t quick enough.

King, who won the 2024 Women of the Future award, has been quite vocal about her fashion risks lately.

During the conversation, King shared how Charli xcx’s Brat the album inspired her to try new things.
“I feel like a Brother [summer] he got something out of me,” she said. “Like, ‘I’m going to get my boobs out or dye my hair a fun color. I just want to be the funnest young version of myself.”

Days later, PEOPLE caught up The kissing booth the actress once again, this time at the Tory Burch show on September 9, where she shared one practical thing she should never forget to take with her during Fashion Week events.
“My [hotel] room key,” King told PEOPLE while on the red carpet. “I hate having to ask the front desk to make me another one. It’s, like, just awkward at that point. It’s like, be fucking responsible.”

The actress jokingly added, “It’s like, ‘That’s your damn key, take it with you, you irresponsible brat.’ So that’s my number one.”
King also shared what she loved most about her outfit that night.
“I’m obsessed with this freaking skirt,” she told PEOPLE of her orange A-line midi skirt, which she paired with a chocolate brown long-sleeved top. “I really like this skirt. I also like this bag.”
She added, “The skirt is really a statement piece here. I love it.”
