Kelsea Ballerini Gives Peek into Chase Stokes Romance with Emotional Lyrics: ‘You’ll Never Know How Much I Needed You’

On Thanksgiving, the 30-year-old country singer posted a carousel of meaningful moments on Instagram with a healthy caption.

“I have a heart with gratitude that overflows this year,” Ballerini began. Her post greeted followers with a dazzling first slide, a photo of the singer herself looking romantic in a red dress with matching lipstick.

The next picture shows the shadow silhouette of her and her boyfriend, Foreign banks star Chase Stokes.

The Tennessee native’s Instagram upload also includes footage of the crowd waving, cheering and singing along as she performs her song “Yeah Boy.”

Another video shows Ballerini and her friends celebrating her birthday by the pool, holding balloons shaped like the numbers three and zero.

Ballerini’s caption continued: “Sending delicious love and lighting your way. happy thanksgiving friends.”

For her final slide, the Grammy nominee teased a touching new love song seemingly inspired by Stokes, 31, who she began dating after her 2022 split from Morgan Evans.

Along with the guitar, Ballerini can be heard singing, “To the man who loved this woman after heartbreak, thank you for everything you didn’t have to do/When I met you I was exhausted and sad and complicated/You’ll never know how much I needed you.”

In the comments, Stokes wrote a simple but heartfelt response: “Thank you ❤️.”

Since confirming their romance in early 2023, both Ballerini and Stokes have been open about their love, which was sparked when the songwriter entered Stokes’ Instagram DMs to introduce himself.

At this year’s CFDA Fashion Awards, the actor told PEOPLE what it was like to see his girlfriend perform in her hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee, on her Heartfirst tour.

“For her to come back to her hometown and sell out an arena, like that stage — that was the best thing. I was crying the whole time – he said.

Ballerini recently posted a TikTok montage of clips of their cutest moments as a couple, from silly selfies to sweet kisses.

Her single “How Do I Do This” follows a reflection on their relationship, which she titled, “Favorite Man 🫠 🤍”.
