Kylie Jenner reflects on her “King Kylie” era.
For Elle’s November 2024 cover, the 27-year-old reality star and mogul shared why she recently revived the aesthetic that defined her style in the mid-2010s.
Back in September, she gave fans a dose of nostalgia with a bright blonde hair color similar to that of her queen Kylie. After being spotted at Los Angeles hotspot Sushi Park sporting the new shade, Jenner shared the look on Instagram adding the caption “teal the end of time.”
She then posted a follow-up post with more blonde hair photos. In the pictures, Kylie is sitting outside wrapped in a white towel with a cup of black coffee in front of her.

After sparking speculation over whether or not the look was a wig, the star quickly reverted to her usual brunette locks.
In her interview with Elle, published on Wednesday, October 23, the Khyja founder gave a simple explanation for the short-lived transformation.
“I had the day off,” she said, explaining that she and her glam squad wanted to play around. Jenner went on to say that the King Kylie era “will always be a part of who I am, but it will never be what it was when I was younger. I would probably never wear eyelash extensions and thick eyebrows. There are just certain trends that I grew out of.”
It’s clear that Jenner still wants to experiment with hair color. In January, she debuted a bubblegum pink hair color that harkened back to her Queen Kylie days, as well as her sleek pastel 2020 look.

In the selfie she shared on Instagram, the star sported tousled pink hair to match her rosy cheeks and rosy pink lips.
“Hiiiiii remember me,” she captioned the post, referring to her past colorful hair look.

She also previously had blonde hair in early 2019, although it was a much lighter shade. In the winter months, Jenner showed off the icy blue color on Instagram.

Beauty pageant or otherwise, Jenner also told Elle that she’s trying to give her “younger self grace.”
“I don’t like to have too many regrets in life,” she said. “I think my path is what got me here today. I’m happy where I’m at and I just have to keep moving forward.”
