Lenny Kravitz Plans to Wing His Father-of-the-Bride Speech at Daughter Zoë’s Wedding: ‘Comes at the Moment’

Lenny Kravitz isn’t sweating the speech he’ll give at his daughter Zoë Kravitz’s wedding.

The “Fly Away” singer, 59, said he plans to say no when he toasts his father of the bride at Zoë’s upcoming wedding to fiance Channing Tatum.

“It just comes in the moment. I don’t rehearse these things,” he said Party tonight at the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday.

Instead of preparing a speech, he will speak “from the heart” when he delivers a few words in honor of the newlyweds, he said.

Earlier this month, when asked about Zoë’s engagement to Tatum, 43, Lenny said ET“Hey, man. That’s life.”

He also expressed his satisfaction that Big little lies star, 35, found a match in Tatum. “When your family is happy, when your child is happy, that’s it — I’ve done well. Blessed,” the proud dad said of Zoë, who he shares with ex Lisa Bonet.

Multiple sources confirmed the couple’s engagement to PEOPLE back in October. At the time, Zoë and Tatum — who were first romantically linked in 2021 — were photographed leaving a Halloween party together, with Zoë wearing a ring that finger.

The actress offered a rare glimpse into her relationship with Tatum in November 2022, speaking GQ yes it is Magical Mike’s Last Dance the star is a “wonderful man”.

She revealed that she and her then-boyfriend bonded over their affinity for analyzing the craft of filmmaking.

“He makes me laugh and we both really love art and talking about art and exploring why we do what we do,” she explained. “We like to watch film and take it apart and talk about it and challenge each other.”

Zoë also opened up about how Tatum – who is father to daughter Everly, 10, with ex-wife Jenna Dewan – supported her while filming her directorial debut, Pussy Island.

“Whether he was making me tea or pouring me drinks or whipping someone into shape or whatever – he was really my protector and it was really lovely and sweet,” she said. GQ Tatum, who played tech entrepreneur Slater King in the film.

Zoë said his kindness and thoughtfulness were a good indicator of what kind of partner he was. “I think if you can do something like that together, it’s a good test. And we came out even stronger,” she pointed out.
