Madison Beer sets some boundaries.
On Wednesday, August 28, the 25-year-old singer-songwriter took to social media to express how she feels uncomfortable taking photos with fans in her hotels while on tour.
“Hellloooo just coming here before I saw some people confused as to why I refuse photos etc at my hotels I’ve stayed at,” Beer wrote in an expired Instagram Story.
The “Make You Mine” singer continued, “while I’m on tour, hotels are basically my temporary home and I’m entitled to some private time just like anyone else…🤍.”

“I will also usually say no to pictures etc at my hotel as it also exposes the location to many other people and unfortunately can put me in danger,” she continued. “I hope you understand and can respect that! I love you.”
Beer is currently touring Asia and Australia for The Encore, the follow-up to The Spinnin Tour, which kicked off in February. The encore started in Singapore on August 22nd and ends in Melbourne on September 2nd.
Last month, the Grammy-nominated musician released her latest single, “15 Minutes.”

The “Reckless” singer’s statement asking for privacy on tour comes shortly after Chappell Roan made headlines for criticizing the “creepy behavior” of some fans earlier this month. The “Red Wine Supernova” singer said people have no “right” to treat her a certain way just because of her star status.
“I don’t care that abuse and harassment, stalking, whatever, is a normal thing for people who are famous or a little famous,” Roan, 26, began in a TikTok shared on Monday, August 19.
“I don’t care if it’s normal,” she continued. “I don’t care that this crazy behavior comes with the job, [or] the career field I chose. That doesn’t make it OK. That doesn’t make him normal. That doesn’t mean I want it. Doesn’t mean I like it.”

In another TikTok shared the same day, Roan explained her perspective by asking a viewer if they would treat a “random woman on the street” the same way some fans treat celebrities — yelling, harassing, asking for photos and more extreme behavior, such as is stalking and online attacks.
A week later, the “Casual” singer sparked even more conversation after once again asking fans to respect her boundaries on social media. “For the last 10 years I have been constantly building my project and it has come to the point where I have to draw lines and set boundaries,” she wrote in a long message on Instagram.
“I just have to put it out there and remind you that women don’t owe you anything,” she continued. “I chose this career because I love music and art and respecting my inner child, I do not accept harassment from anyone because I chose this path, nor do I deserve it.”
